You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance type. Pricing is not tiered by features. Instead, each listed instance size sets your hourly rate, so cost scales with the compute resources you select. Smaller instance types, such as t3a small and medium, suit light use with few open applications. Larger types like xlarge or metal sizes fit heavier workloads with many running applications. You can start, stop, and disconnect to control usage cost. All instance options deliver the same remote desktop with RDP login and Active Directory join.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What resources do I get for one hour of a chosen EC2 instance type?
Each hour buys the compute of that instance size, running the WinTwin 10 desktop with RDP login and Active Directory join. Smaller types like t3a small or medium give fewer resources for light use. Larger xlarge or metal sizes give more CPU and memory for many open applications.
Am I charged when I disconnect my RDP session or stop the instance?
Software charges meter running time only. Disconnecting your RDP client keeps the instance running, so charges continue. Stopping the instance halts software charges, though AWS storage fees may still apply. You can start and stop it as needed to control usage cost.
If I move to a larger instance type, does my hourly rate change automatically?
Your rate is tied to the instance size you launch. Choosing a larger type sets a different hourly rate for that instance. The change is not automatic; you select the instance type when you launch. All types deliver the same desktop and features.

Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
