Memory Machine Cloud is a powerful and intuitive container automation platform for running data-intensive pipelines and interactive computing applications in the cloud. Safely run on Spot instances, auto-right-size cloud virtual machines, save cloud costs.
Memory Machine™ Cloud (MMC) is a software product from MemVerge that streamlines the deployment of containerized applications in AWS. Memory Machine Cloud provides:
Automated cloud resource management
Based on your policies, MMC identifies, instantiates, and manages the AWS resources needed to run your workloads.
Intelligent job scheduling
Submit batch jobs with MMC's built-in job scheduler or use MMC's integration with workflow managers such as Cromwell and Nextflow.
Adaptive resource control
Avoid over- or under-provisioning cloud resources by using MMC's manual or automatic controls to optimize cloud resources in real-time.
Workload continuity for Spot Instances
Run stateful workloads on low-cost AWS Spot instances and save up to 80% of the cost of On-demand instances. If a Spot Instance is reclaimed, MMC's AppCapsule technology transfers the complete job state to a new instance and resumes job execution without loss.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
This listing uses a single usage-based dimension called the MMC Savings Unit. You are billed by units consumed, so your cost scales with how much you use the platform. There are no separate tiers or instance sizes to choose from on Marketplace. Instead, one metered unit covers your usage of the container orchestration and cost-optimization services. Because billing follows actual consumption, your total charge rises or falls with workload activity across your jobs. You pay for what you run rather than committing to a fixed quantity.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one MMC Savings Unit represent for billing?
A Savings Unit meters your usage of the platform's cloud automation and optimization services. Billing tracks the resources your jobs consume as they run across EC2 instances. You draw down units based on actual workload activity rather than a fixed seat or instance count.
Am I charged when my jobs are idle or not running?
Charges follow active workload consumption. The platform provisions and de-provisions EC2 resources as jobs need them, so units accrue while jobs run. Its right-sizing service migrates workloads to differently-sized EC2 instances during runtime, and its checkpoint service moves work when Spot instances terminate, keeping usage aligned to actual activity.
What services are covered by the metered Savings Units?
Units cover the container orchestration platform, job automation, and the public/private application library. They also cover the resource and cost observability service, the runtime right-sizing service, and the checkpoint-and-recovery service that lets stateful apps run on Spot EC2 instances.

MMCE consists of an OpCenter and a number of worker nodes. OpCenter is a lightweight process that dynamically deploys and destroys worker nodes based on the user's job submissions. OpCenter also provides usage tracking, billing, and user management.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."

IAM Role is configured with the necessary permissions for the MMCloud service. The IAM Policy is created and responsible for accessing AWS services API to create necessary resources to run your compute jobs, including not only EC2 instances, but also disk volumes and security groups to allow network access and management.
