Overview
A self-hosted low-code platform for building internal tools, admin panels, CRUD apps, and dashboards on top of your own databases and APIs, packaged to run in production from first boot: automatic HTTPS (Caddy with Let's Encrypt or self-signed), a firewall, and automatic security updates. Build and run your team's internal apps in your own AWS account - own your tools and your data, with no per-builder seat fees.
Connect popular SQL and NoSQL databases and REST or GraphQL APIs, then assemble UIs by dragging widgets and binding them to queries, with JavaScript available throughout. Your apps and configuration persist on a data volume across restarts. The hardened Ubuntu 24.04 base includes a ufw firewall, key-only SSH, and unattended security updates.
The all-in-one deployment runs its database and cache on the instance, so a t3a.large (8 GiB) or larger is recommended. When you first open the instance, the first account you create becomes the administrator.

Dimensions summary
You pay an hourly software rate to run AppXen App Builder, billed per instance-hour. The four dimensions are EC2 instance sizes, not feature tiers: t3a.large, t3.large, t3a.xlarge, and t3.xlarge. You pick one based on the compute and memory you need. The two large sizes offer 8 GiB of memory; the two xlarge sizes offer more. Pricing scales with how long the instance runs, so cost depends on uptime and chosen size. You pay the EC2 instance charge separately through AWS. There are no per-builder or per-user seat fees.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The two large sizes (t3a.large and t3.large) give you 8 GiB of memory. The xlarge sizes (t3a.xlarge and t3.xlarge) give you more memory and vCPUs. The vendor recommends t3a.large or larger, since the deployment runs its database and cache on the same instance.
The software rate meters running instance-hours. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. You may still pay AWS for attached storage, since your apps and data sit on a persistent data volume in your own account. The software charge tracks uptime only.
Two charges apply at the same time. You pay the AppXen App Builder hourly software rate for your chosen instance size, plus the separate EC2 instance charge through AWS. Both scale with how long the instance runs. There are no per-builder or per-user seat fees added.

Usage instructions
Launch the instance (t3a.large or larger, about 8 GiB RAM) with ports 80, 443, and 22 open. Wait about 3 minutes for first boot, then browse to https://<public-ip>/ and create your account; the first account created becomes the instance administrator. For a trusted TLS certificate, launch with the EC2 user-data line APPLIANCE_DOMAIN=yourdomain.com and point that domain at the instance public IP.
