AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour based on the memory size of each Lucenia Search instance. Four size tiers set the rate, each defined by heap memory (the working memory the search engine uses). Small covers instances up to 4GB heap. Medium covers 4-16GB heap. Large covers 16-64GB heap. XLarge covers 64GB or more. Pricing scales with the instance size you run, so larger heap configurations bill at a higher hourly rate. You choose the tier that matches your workload and pay only for the hours each instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the heap memory size in each tier actually measure for billing?
Heap memory is the working memory the search engine reserves to run queries and hold data structures. Your billing tier follows the heap size you configure per instance. Small covers up to 4GB, Medium 4-16GB, Large 16-64GB, and XLarge 64GB or more. Each running instance bills at its tier's hourly rate.
Am I charged when a Lucenia instance is stopped or idle?
Billing meters the hours each instance runs. A stopped instance stops accruing hourly software charges. The architecture scales toward near-zero when idle, which reduces active compute time. Note that underlying AWS storage or resources tied to a stopped instance may still incur separate AWS fees.
If I run several instances of different sizes, how do the charges combine?
Each instance bills independently at the hourly rate for its own heap tier. Running a Medium and a Large instance means you pay both hourly rates in parallel. Your total is the sum of all running instances across all tiers, based on the hours each one runs.

Containers are lightweight, portable execution environments that wrap server application software in a filesystem that includes everything it needs to run. Container applications run on supported container runtimes and orchestration services, such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS). Both eliminate the need for you to install and operate your own container orchestration software by managing and scheduling containers on a scalable cluster of virtual machines.
