OpenAI-compatible voice AI platform for teams building production phone agents on telephony, combining one speech-to-speech model with transcription, call compliance scoring, and emotional text to speech.
Building voice AI for telephony today means assembling four separate vendors: a speech-to-text model, a reasoning LLM, a text-to-speech engine, and an orchestration layer. Each vendor adds latency, a separate bill, and a new failure point. Most teams spend weeks on integration before they can test a single call.
PyAI replaces that stack with one speech-to-speech model built specifically for the phone. Omni handles the full call loop, audio in to audio out, at approximately 390 ms median voice-to-voice latency in-region. One all-in price of $0.05 per minute covers the entire pipeline, with no platform fee to clear before the rate counts.
The platform includes Omni API, the core speech-to-speech model for developers building phone agents programmatically; Trace, which applies automated compliance and QA scoring to every call against rule packs for TCPA, HIPAA, and PII; and Cast, cinematic emotional text to speech for long-form content such as podcasts and narration. A no-code Agents interface for managing, evaluating, and shipping voice agents without engineering support is rolling out.
PyAI is OpenAI-compatible. Developers can point an existing OpenAI SDK at the PyAI endpoint and pass a PyAI key with no other changes to their request or response handling. The platform integrates with Twilio, JustCall, Telnyx, and any SIP trunk for telephony, and pushes call outcomes to HubSpot, Salesforce, and Zapier via webhook.
Every account starts with $50 in free credit, no credit card required. Teams can build and test on live calls before committing to a production deployment.
Highlights
One speech-to-speech model replaces STT, LLM, and TTS stack for telephony, with ~390 ms median voice-to-voice latency in-region.
OpenAI-compatible API: point your existing SDK at PyAI with no code changes. Integrates with Twilio, JustCall, Telnyx, HubSpot, Salesforce, and any SIP trunk.
Built-in compliance and QA via Trace: auto-scores every call against TCPA, HIPAA, and PII rule packs with PASS/WARN/FAIL scorecards citing the regulation.

You pay only for what you use across five independent services. Four of them bill by the minute: Omni API, Trace, Cast, and Hear. The fifth, AMD, bills per call for answering-machine detection. These are not tiers or bundles. You activate and pay for each service separately based on your own usage. There is no platform fee, no seat count, and no minimum commitment. Your total cost scales with how many minutes or calls each service processes.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
How is time measured for the four per-minute services, and how does one AMD charge get counted?
The per-minute services bill per second of processing, so partial minutes count only what you use. AMD records one charge per answered call it detects, regardless of call length. Each service meters its own activity, so you pay only for the services you actually run.
If I build a voice agent, which services drive my bill and do they stack?
Each service bills independently and appears on the same invoice. The Omni API meters speech and reasoning minutes for the live agent. Hear, Cast, Trace, and AMD add charges only when you call those services. Omni minutes usually drive most of an active agent's cost.
Does the Trace per-call charge apply to every call, or only calls it actually scans?
Trace records usage only for eligible calls it scans against its rule packs. You enable it for your organization or a single agent. Calls that are not scanned do not accrue Trace charges. AMD similarly charges only for calls where it returns an answered-by result.
