AuthPoint Total Identity Security by WatchGuard

Credentials leak through breaches, phishing, and dark web marketplaces between logins. Multi-factor authentication alone cannot detect that. AuthPoint Total Identity Security combines MFA with Dark Web Credential Monitoring and Credential Access Threat Detection to protect the full identity lifecycle - not just the moment of authentication.

    What You Get

AuthPoint Total Identity Security delivers three integrated security capabilities managed from a single cloud console:

    • Complete Multi-Factor Authentication - Verify identity at every login with push notifications, passkeys, TOTP, QR codes, and hardware tokens. Enforce zero trust access policies across your organization.
    • Dark Web Credential Monitoring - Continuously scan dark web, deep web, and breach databases using AI-driven intelligence. When exposed workforce credentials are found, administrators receive alerts identifying affected accounts and breach dates. Affected users can be notified directly so passwords are changed before attackers exploit them.
    • ThreatSync Credential Access - Detect and correlate identity-based threats by monitoring for unauthorized credential use across endpoints and networks. Enable rapid response and risk mitigation when credential misuse is identified.

    Key Capabilities

    • Single Sign-On (SSO) - Provide workforce access to cloud applications, VPNs, and networks through a unified authentication experience.
    • Microsoft Entra ID External MFA - Certified for Entra ID to protect Microsoft 365 and Azure environments while monitoring users for exposed credentials.
    • Zero Trust Access Control - Enforce policy-based access decisions that align with zero trust security principles. AuthPoint serves as the identity component of the WatchGuard Zero Trust Bundle alongside Endpoint Security, FireCloud, and ThreatSync XDR.
    • Credential Lifecycle Protection - Continuously scan for exposed credentials, verify identity at login, and alert when new breaches are detected - covering the gaps between authentication events.

Real-World Use Case: Simplifying Security for Growing Organizations

SESTEK, a global AI technology company serving more than 700 enterprise customers across 20 countries, selected WatchGuard to consolidate its security operations. Managing separate security products had created unnecessary complexity for their limited IT team, and implementing MFA with improved identity and credential protection was a top concern. After deploying WatchGuard's integrated platform including AuthPoint MFA, SESTEK reported faster response times for security incidents, increased security team efficiency, and more secure remote access and authentication - all managed through a unified environment.

As SESTEK's IT and Application Support Director Ahmet Murat Yildirim noted: "An integrated and centralized solution, the ability to monitor all cybersecurity threats from a single location, and fast support are key benefits for us. When you manage everything from a single point, you spend less time on security operations."

    Managed Through WatchGuard Cloud

All configuration, monitoring, and reporting is centralized in WatchGuard Cloud. Administrators gain full visibility into authentication activity, credential exposure events, and threat correlations from a single console. The cloud-native architecture supports multi-tenant management, making it well-suited for managed service providers (MSPs) managing MFA and credential monitoring across multiple customer accounts.

    Who This Is For

AuthPoint Total Identity Security is designed for organizations that need to move beyond basic MFA to address the full spectrum of credential-based threats. Whether you are an IT team securing a growing workforce, an MSP managing identity security for multiple clients, or a security operations team seeking to reduce credential attack risk, this solution provides continuous protection from authentication through credential lifecycle monitoring.

    Highlights

    • AuthPoint MFA - Secure Every Login with Multiple Authentication Methods: Deploy push notifications, passkeys, TOTP, QR codes, and hardware tokens alongside single sign-on and zero trust policies. Mobile phone DNA adds a device-specific layer that ties authentication to the user's registered device, blocking attempts from cloned or unauthorized phones.
    • Dark Web Credential Monitoring - Detect Exposed Credentials Before Attackers Use Them: Continuously scans dark web, deep web, and breach databases using AI-driven intelligence to find exposed workforce credentials. When a match is detected, administrators receive alerts identifying affected accounts and the breach date. When configured, affected users are notified directly so they can change passwords immediately.
    • ThreatSync Credential Access - Correlate Identity Threats Across Endpoints and Networks: Detects unauthorized credential use by monitoring identity-based threat patterns across both endpoints and networks, catching attacks that endpoint-only or network-only tools would miss. Enables rapid incident response and risk mitigation from within WatchGuard Cloud.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

Each individual you enroll for identity protection counts as one user. You license one seat per workforce user whose logins you want to protect with multi-factor authentication and whose credentials you want scanned for exposure. Count every person who needs coverage, then license that many users.
One license bundles multi-factor authentication with Dark Web Credential Monitoring. You get push, passkeys, one-time passcodes, QR codes, and hardware token support, plus zero trust policies. Credential monitoring scans breach databases and alerts admins and users when exposed credentials appear. Everything is managed from one cloud console.
Cost scales with the number of users you license, up to 50 in this dimension. According to the vendor, as your user base grows, your cost per user decreases. You add seats by licensing more users to match your enrolled workforce.

Robust O365 Integration and Hardware Tokens, but Support Requires an MSP

    Reviewed on Apr 09, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Watchguard integrates well with O365 and our firewall, and it’s one of the few vendors that still offers hardware tokens, which was important for us. Authpoint licences are well priced, and once implemented, it’s been robust and reliable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting support with WatchGuard requires you to go through an MSP in order to resolve technical issues, which makes it harder to get direct help when something comes up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use WatchGuard AuthPoint for our MFA, and it’s essential for meeting our certification requirements. It helps us stay compliant by ensuring we have the multi-factor authentication controls we need in place.

    Excellent MFA

    Reviewed on Mar 16, 2023
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
it is an excellent MFA solution to integrate with our firewalls, it integrates very well with the active directory, and it allows the creation of groups and policies. It is a very good MFA option.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think one of the factors that I don't like is that it doesn't integrate with native firebox users, only with active directory users, which makes it difficult for firebox users used for mobile VPN connections.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the implementation of this tool, we were able to add a higher level of security to mobile VPN connections, which allows us to confirm the identity of the user through a token or confirmation message for the approval of the remote connection.
