Growth Project
This product includes all features. The price varies based on service usage, such as the number of searches, the number of documents, and the level of commitment to usage.
You choose between two contract dimensions, both billed in units and both including all features. The Dedicated Project prices by the resources you reserve, such as CPU, RAM, disk, and bandwidth. This fits workloads where you size infrastructure directly. The Growth Project prices by service usage, such as the number of searches, the number of documents, and your committed usage level. This fits workloads that scale with activity rather than fixed capacity. Your cost rises as you add resources or usage. Pick the model that matches how your search workload grows.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
For the Dedicated Project, what do the reserved resources like CPU, RAM, and disk map to?
The Dedicated Project reserves a fixed instance with set CPU cores, RAM, disk space, and bandwidth. You size infrastructure directly for your workload. Your cost stays tied to the capacity you reserve, not to how many searches or documents you process. This suits steady, predictable workloads.
For the Growth Project, what happens to my cost as searches and documents increase?
The Growth Project meters service usage, including the number of searches, the number of documents, and your committed usage level. As you index more documents or run more searches, your cost rises accordingly. This model tracks activity rather than fixed capacity, so it fits workloads that scale up and down.
How do I decide between the Dedicated Project and the Growth Project?
Both include all features. Choose the Dedicated Project when you want to reserve fixed infrastructure and control CPU, RAM, disk, and bandwidth directly. Choose the Growth Project when your cost should follow activity, such as search and document volume. Match the model to whether your workload is steady or variable.

Meilisearch is a lightning-fast, typo-tolerant search engine shipped as a single Rust binary, exposing a developer-friendly REST API for full-text, semantic, and hybrid search. Unlike bare Meilisearch AMIs that run in development mode with no master key, leave the API open on a public port with no TLS, and report anonymous analytics by default, this Lynxroute build is ready out of the box: production mode with a strong master key generated at first boot, the engine bound to localhost behind an nginx TLS reverse proxy on 443, analytics disabled, UFW firewall pre-configured, and a CIS Level 1 hardened Ubuntu 24.04 LTS base.

Review from a verified AWS customer
What is our primary use case?
I use it for 50% text search and 50% vector search.
How has it helped my organization?
They drastically reduce operation costs for both human resources and compute compared to OpenSearch.
What is most valuable?
Everything was an upgrade compared to Amazon OpenSearch, with the exception of resiliency.
What needs improvement?
The resiliency of their service needs improvement. There have been several outages.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for almost 2 years.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
As explained above, we used OpenSearch and switched because of its performance, maintenance complexity, and operating costs.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The setup cost is fair.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We considered Pinecone, Qdrant, and Turbopuffer as alternate solutions.
What other advice do I have?
They are really proactive and listen carefully to your feedback.

What do you like best about the product?
Meillisearch helps our users find what they need in our huge assets library every day. It's really easy to maintain and update, and the support is so reactive! We implemented the new AI feature search, and it works like a charm. Thanks to it, we got internationalized content out of the box. Performance-wise, I'm impressed by the speed of indexing our data, as we sometimes republish all our assets at once. At Rayon we really enjoy using meillisearch and hope to work with it as much as possible!
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall it's still improving but the admin dashboard sometimes lacks some clarity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fast and efficient search in our asset database.

What do you like best about the product?
Meilisearch has been a great tool to work with. It’s really easy to use, and the setup process is straightforward, which saved me a lot of time. The documentation is clear, so I didn’t have to spend hours figuring things out.
I’ve also had a really good experience with their support team. They’re quick to respond and genuinely helpful, which makes a big difference when you’re troubleshooting or trying to get something specific to work.
In terms of performance, it’s fast and handles searches and indexing smoothly, even with larger datasets. It’s been reliable and does exactly what I need it to do.
Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a simple and efficient search solution with great support.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I think could be improved is the dashboard. While it works fine for basic needs, it could be a bit more sophisticated with additional features or tools to manage indexes more effectively.
Another concern is the recent changes in pricing. For those with large indexes but lower usage, the new pricing model might not feel as fair or cost-effective, which could make it harder to justify for certain projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meilisearch is helping me handle a large index of nutrition ingredients efficiently. It allows users to quickly search and find the right nutritional foods, which was a challenge when I was using Postgres. With Postgres, the search process was much slower, but Meilisearch makes it significantly faster and more responsive, improving the overall experience for users.

What do you like best about the product?
Meilisearch has empowered us to deliver lightning-fast and highly relevant search results tailored to our customers' needs. Its seamless integration with our systems has positively impacted developer experience, making its integration with our platform, local environment setup, testing, and CI/CD automation significantly more efficient. Additionally, Meilisearch has proven to be a cost-effective solution, resulting in substantial savings. Last but not least, the active community, the rapid evolution of the product, and the excellent support give us great confidence for the future.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any product, there are areas that can be improved and features that are still lacking, although there is nothing to specifically dislike. Our main concern lies in the Cloud deployment and management UI, as it does't provide insights on search requests, such as response times and top queries, it does't automatically generate a suggestions index for an autocomplete experience and lacks integration with observability platforms like Datadog. However, it is worth noting that there is an experimental feature in place for the Metrics API, even though not yet available on the Cloud at the time of writing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meilisearch powers the search experience in our Wholesale platform. It enables us to deliver extremely fast and highly relevant free text search results from our entire product catalog and provides a complete search experience with filters, facets and sorting that empowers our users to discover the best products for them very easily.
