AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. Every dimension maps to a specific AWS ARM-based EC2 instance type, all running STIG-hardened Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. Your cost scales with the instance size and family you pick. General-purpose (m, t, a1), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r, x2gd), and storage/IO-optimized (i, im) families are available. Larger sizes within a family cost more per hour, while metal options run on dedicated hardware. Choose the instance that fits your workload, then pay only for the hours you run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit map to for these instance dimensions?
Each dimension maps to one running ARM-based EC2 instance of the named type. You are billed per instance-hour for the software running on that instance. Running two instances of the same type bills two hourly charges. The instance type name sets the vCPU, memory, and storage profile you receive.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software fee. Restarting resumes the per-hour charge. Note that stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, which are billed by AWS, not by this software license.
How does cost change if I move to a larger instance in the same family?
Each instance type is priced independently by the hour. Choosing a larger size within a family, such as moving from large to 4xlarge, changes to that size's hourly rate. The change takes effect when you launch the new instance type; there is no automatic tier upgrade across sizes.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
