You pay by the hour for this software image, which runs on AWS EC2 instances. Pricing has one dimension: the EC2 instance type you choose. Each instance type carries its own hourly rate, so your cost scales with the size and family you select. Options range from small burstable instances to large compute, memory, storage, and accelerated types. You only pay for the hours each instance runs. There is no upfront commitment. Choose a smaller instance for light workloads or a larger one for heavier demand, and your hourly charge adjusts to match.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly rate on each EC2 instance type?
You get a pre-built software image running IIS 10 on Windows Server 2019 with Traffic Guard, launched on the EC2 instance type you pick. The rate covers the software licence per running instance-hour. The underlying compute, storage, and network resources match that instance type's AWS specification.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software fees. You are billed per hour for each instance while it runs. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage costs for attached volumes, which are outside this software charge.
How does my hourly cost change if I switch to a larger instance type?
Each instance type carries its own hourly rate. Moving to a larger size or a different family changes your rate to that type's price. The change takes effect when you launch on the new type. You pay only for the hours each instance runs, with no upfront commitment.
