You pay by the hour for Rocky Linux 8.9 with vendor support, billed per running instance. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the instance you choose. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or hardware carry higher hourly rates. There are no tiers or upfront commitments; you run what you need and pay only for hours used. What do I actually receive when I pay the hourly rate for an instance type?
You get a running EC2 instance preloaded with Rocky Linux 8.9 plus vendor support from Tiov IT. The rate covers the software and support license for that instance size. AWS charges for the underlying compute, storage, and data transfer separately on the same bill.
Am I charged the hourly rate when my instance is stopped?
The software charge meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. You may still pay AWS for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but the Tiov IT license bills only for time the instance runs.
If I switch to a bigger instance type, how does my cost change?
Each instance type has its own hourly rate. Moving to a size with more CPU, memory, or hardware raises your hourly rate. The change takes effect when you launch the new instance type; there is no automatic upgrade. You choose the type each time you launch.

Info regarding virtual machines
The operating system does not save any sensitive information for the customers. The customer is responsible for saving any information, sensitive or not.
The data saved on the volumes is not encrypted by default.
All instance authentication must use key pair access, not password-based authentication.
AMIs does not contain passwords, authentication keys, key pairs, security keys, or other credentials.
PasswordAuthentication is set to NO in sshd_config.
The application does not make use of any encryption techniques.

Navigate to your Amazon EC2 console and verify that you're in the correct region.
Choose Instance and select your launched instance.
Select the server to display your metadata page and choose the Status checks tab at the bottom of the page to review if your status checks passed or failed.
