You pay by the hour for Rocky Linux 9.1 with support, billed per running instance. Pricing is tied to the AWS EC2 instance type you choose, so each dimension matches a specific instance size and family. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, GPU, and high-performance families, across sizes from micro to metal. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or GPU resources carry higher hourly rates. You select the instance that fits your workload, and the software charge applies on top of the underlying AWS infrastructure cost. There is no upfront commitment; you pay only while instances run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and what am I actually paying for?
Each hourly unit covers the Rocky Linux 9.1 software and vendor support running on one EC2 instance of the type you pick. The rate reflects that specific instance family and size. The AWS infrastructure cost is billed separately by AWS. Support is provided by TIOV IT.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software fee. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage charges for attached volumes, but those are AWS costs, not the software licence. You pay the software rate only while the instance runs.
If I switch to a larger instance type, how does my hourly charge change?
Your rate follows the instance type you run. Moving to a larger size or a family with more CPU, memory, or GPU applies that type's hourly rate for every hour it runs. The change is not automatic; you select the new instance yourself when you launch or resize.
