Go, sometimes referred to as Golang, is an open-source programming language with intention to create a programming language that could be learned quickly. Since its release, Go has become highly popular among developers and is used for various applications ranging from cloud or server-side applications, to artificial intelligence and robotics.
This Linux image provided is tailored for enterprise-level performance on AWS, containing an installation of Go, the necessary packages to operate an SSH Server and permit user logins. The most recent security updates from the team are incorporated. Root login is deactivated, with only the default user granted access via SSH public key authentication.

You pay by the hour for the running Go software on Rocky Linux 9 (ARM), billed per EC2 instance you launch. Pricing scales with the instance you choose, not with tiers or feature sets. Options span many ARM-based instance families, including general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, and storage-optimized types. Within each family, larger sizes (from medium up to metal and 16xlarge) carry a higher hourly rate. This reflects the added CPU, memory, and storage of that instance. Every option includes vendor support and hardened defaults. You select the instance that matches your workload and run it as long as needed.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one running EC2 instance of the size you pick. You are billed per hour that instance runs the Go software on Rocky Linux 9 (ARM). Each launched instance meters separately. The hourly rate reflects that instance type's CPU, memory, and storage.
The software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Underlying AWS charges, such as storage for a stopped instance, may still apply separately. To halt software charges, stop the instance when it is not in use.
Every instance option includes vendor support and hardened defaults. Apollo applies industry-standard hardening frameworks and provides on-demand support by email, phone, and chat. These are the same across all instance sizes. What changes between options is only the compute, memory, and storage of the instance you select.
