Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for this hardened Oracle Linux 7 image. Pricing has one billing unit: hours of software use. The many line items are not tiers or feature packages. Each one maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type you can run the image on. The hourly software rate changes with the instance you pick, so larger instances with more compute, memory, or storage carry higher rates. You choose the instance that fits your workload, and billing accrues only while that instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One hour covers the software licence running on one EC2 instance. The clock runs whenever that instance is active. The hourly rate ties to the specific instance type you launch, since each type carries a different rate. You pay for each hour or partial hour the instance runs.
The software fee meters running time only. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue this hourly software charge. Underlying AWS storage or other AWS resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from the software rate shown here.
Each instance type maps to its own hourly software rate. Moving to an instance with more compute, memory, or storage applies that instance's rate for the hours it runs. The change takes effect when you launch the new instance. Billing follows whichever instance is active at the time.

Usage instructions
Usage Instructions: Once the instance is running, connect to it using a Secure Shell (SSH) client with the configured SSH key. The default username is 'cloud-user'. Info regarding virtual machines The operating system does not save any sensitive information for the customers. The customer is responsible for saving any information, sensitive or not. The data saved on the volumes is not encrypted by default. All instance authentication must use key pair access, not password-based authentication. AMIs does not contain passwords, authentication keys, key pairs, security keys, or other credentials. PasswordAuthentication is set to NO in sshd_config. The application does not make use of any encryption techniques.
Troubleshooting Navigate to your Amazon EC2 console and verify that you're in the correct region. Choose Instance and select your launched instance. Select the server to display your metadata page and choose the Status checks tab at the bottom of the page to review if your status checks passed or failed.
