You pay by the hour for this Minimal Linux Stream 10 image, with no upfront commitment. Pricing is not tiered; instead, you pick the EC2 instance type that fits your workload. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS instance size and family, including general-purpose t2, t3, t3a, m3, m4, m5 types, plus m5a, m5d, m5ad, m5n, and m5dn variants. Larger instances with more CPU and memory cost more per hour. Smaller instances like t3.nano cost less. Your total depends on which instance you run and how many hours you use it.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing represent for each instance type?
One hour equals one running instance of the chosen EC2 type. Each dimension maps to a specific size and family, such as t3.nano or m5.24xlarge. You pay for the wall-clock hours that instance runs, counted per instance you launch.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped?
The hourly software charge applies while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage costs for attached volumes, but the software meter counts running time only.
Does running a larger instance change how the software is billed?
Billing stays hourly no matter which instance you pick. Each instance type carries its own per-hour rate, and larger families with more CPU and memory bill at higher rates. Your total is the instance rate multiplied by the hours it runs.
