You pay by the hour for this Ubuntu 26 image bundled with a security agent. Pricing is tied to the AWS EC2 instance type you choose to run it on. Each dimension maps to one instance size, so your rate scales with the compute power of that instance. Small instances like t3.nano cost less per hour, while large memory, compute, storage, and GPU instances carry higher hourly rates. You select the instance that fits your workload, and billing follows actual running hours. There is no upfront commitment; charges accrue only while instances run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly rate cover — the operating system, the security agent, or the underlying AWS instance?
Each hourly rate covers the Ubuntu 26 image and its bundled security agent for the instance type you pick. The rate maps to one running instance. AWS charges its own separate fees for the underlying compute, storage, and network. You see both on your bill.
Am I charged when an instance running this image is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running hours only. When you stop an instance, the hourly software charge stops accruing. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this listing's software rate.
If I switch to a bigger instance type, does my hourly rate change automatically?
Yes. Your rate follows the instance type you launch. Moving from a smaller instance to a memory, compute, storage, or GPU instance changes your hourly software charge to match that instance's dimension. The change takes effect when you run the new instance type.
