"# Connecting to Asana's MCP Server
The Asana MCP server is available at:
<https://mcp.asana.com/sse>
This server requires authentication with your Asana account. When connecting, you will be prompted to authorize the application to access your Asana data.
🔒 Allowlist
Due to the implementation of an OAuth redirect URI allowlist, some third-party applications might require additional configuration or registration of their redirect URI with Asana Support before a successful connection can be established. If you’re a maintainer of an MCP client, see Integrating with Asana’s MCP Server for details on how to register.

- A compatible MCP client (Claude.ai, Cursor, or any application that has implemented an MCP client)
- The app named "Asana MCP" is not blocked via Asana app management .
If you're not sure if the app is blocked, try to connect your MCP client to the server and go through the authorization flow. You'll either be able to authorize the app like normal or, if the app is currently blocked, be prompted to send a request for your admin to unblock the app for your domain.

We can easily create tasks and projects, add priority-wise tags, and the UI is very user-friendly. The learning curve also isn’t very high, so it’s easy to get started.

For as much as I’ve used Asana, I don’t think there’s anything I’ve disliked about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana centralizes project and task management, so work doesn't get lost across emails, chats, and spreadsheets. It solves key problems like lack of visibility into who's doing what, scattered communication, missed deadlines, and unclear task ownership.
The main benefit is better team alignment and less time spent in status meetings, since progress is visible directly in the tool.

Even though AI feature is available creating rules and understand them is limited when adding custom features already determined by Asana, I cant create my own custom feature.

Project visibility through dashboard reporting, how projects are performing across cross-functional departments.
This helps me as project manager to give accurate reporting also looking into our current tier and pricing options if we need to upgrade.
