Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run this ARM-based proxy on. Billing is usage-based, so charges add up for each running instance and stop when you stop it. The dimensions map to AWS Graviton instance families: c6g, c7g, and c8g compute instances, plus c6gn and c7gn network-optimized instances. Within each family, you choose a size from large up to 4xlarge. More cores or higher network capacity cost more per hour. You can run several instances at once, and each instance is billed and licensed separately.

What do I actually get when I run one hourly instance of this proxy?
You get one running proxy VM sized to the EC2 instance you pick. It installs both the proxy and the Central Console on a single host. Each instance handles query routing, caching, connection pooling, and read/write split. You configure it through a web wizard on port 8087.
Am I charged when I stop an instance, and how does cost behave as I add nodes?
Charges accrue per hour only while an instance runs. Stopping an instance stops the software charge. To scale, you add more nodes horizontally, often in AWS auto-scaling groups. Each added instance is billed and licensed separately at its own hourly rate for the size you chose.
How do the c6gn and c7gn network-optimized instances differ from the c6g, c7g, and c8g options for billing?
All are ARM Graviton instances billed per hour by size. The c6gn and c7gn families add higher network capacity, useful for high-throughput proxy traffic. The c6g, c7g, and c8g families focus on compute cores. You pick one family and size; that hourly rate applies while it runs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance.
