Spare Tire is a Zero-Downtime Continuity platform that keeps Electronic Health Record (EHR) operations running through ransomware attacks, cyber incidents, vendor and third-party software failures, infrastructure outages, natural disasters, and planned maintenance.
Traditional disaster recovery is reactive. It restores systems after they fail, often after days or weeks of downtime while care stops and IT works to bring things back. Spare Tire works differently. It runs continuously alongside your primary EHR on an external cloud, on separate hardware in a separate network with its own credentials, holding a live synchronized slice of the patient data clinicians need to keep treating: active medications, allergies, diagnoses, recent vitals, care team assignments, and bed status. When downtime hits, clinicians access Spare Tire through any web browser or mobile device cleared for the incident and continue caring for patients without interruption, even on limited networks. The familiar workflow means no retraining.
When the primary EHR is restored, every record created during downtime flows back automatically with timestamps and audit trail preserved. That eliminates manual re-entry and the lengthy reconciliation projects that follow most outages.
