    Audiobookshelf - Self-Hosted Audiobook Server

     Info
    Deployed on AWS
Self-hosted audiobook and podcast server with per-user progress sync, chapter navigation, and automatic metadata matching.

    Overview

Audiobookshelf is a self-hosted server for audiobooks and podcasts. Playback position syncs per user across web, iOS, and Android, so a listener can move between phone and browser mid-chapter without losing their place. The scanner reads embedded tags and matches against online providers to fill in cover art, series order, and narrator credits. Chapter markers, variable playback speed, and sleep timers are built in. Podcast feeds can be subscribed to and auto-downloaded on a schedule with retention rules. Multiple user accounts each get their own library permissions and listening history, and offline downloads are available in the mobile apps.

    Highlights

    • Playback position syncs per user across web, iOS, and Android mid-chapter
    • Automatic metadata matching fills cover art, series order, and narrator credits

    • Amazon ECS
    Container image

Containers are lightweight, portable execution environments that wrap server application software in a filesystem that includes everything it needs to run. Container applications run on supported container runtimes and orchestration services, such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS). Both eliminate the need for you to install and operate your own container orchestration software by managing and scheduling containers on a scalable cluster of virtual machines.
