This lightweight and secure AlmaLinux 9.2 (ARM/aarch64) image is built from the official ISO image, stripped down to include only the essential packages and required AWS software to make it integrate seamlessly into the AWS infrastructure (AWS CLI, Elastic Network Adapter & NVMe drivers). This results in a minimal image that is fast to boot, reduces storage requirements, and optimizes system responsiveness. The image is updated with the latest security patches and updates, providing protection against known vulnerabilities and ensuring the stability and reliability of your server environment. Other features: key based authentication with 'ec2-user' username, cloud-init and SELinux enabled, root login disabled, automatic root disk resize based on the instance volume configuration. Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly rate covers the AlmaLinux 9.2 ARM64 image and Rinne Labs support for it. You also pay standard AWS charges for the EC2 instance and any attached storage. The software rate and the AWS infrastructure cost bill separately and appear together on your AWS invoice.
The software fee meters running instance-hours. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay AWS storage fees for the attached volume while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
Each option maps to one EC2 instance type. Sizes range from medium to 16xlarge and bare metal. Pick the family that fits your workload, such as compute, memory, storage, GPU, or HPC. Larger sizes add vCPU and memory, so the hourly rate rises with the size you select.
