What counts as one server unit for billing?
One unit is a single running server instance deployed from the AMI. That instance runs the device detection HTTP server that your client applications query. You pay per instance for a one-year period, so each additional deployed instance counts as another unit.
How does the service get device data updates, and does that cost extra?
The server periodically queries ScientiaMobile for updates to the device data repository and API logic. These updates happen automatically with no added configuration and no separate charge. Your one-year per-instance fee covers this ongoing update process.
Which client programming languages can query the server without changing my per-unit cost?
You can integrate using Go, Java, .NET, PHP, Node.js, Python, Scala, Rust, and Kotlin client libraries. The client connects to the server over a REST interface. The language you choose does not change the per-instance pricing.
