The Courier mail transfer agent (MTA) is an integrated mail/groupware
server based on open commodity protocols, such as ESMTP, IMAP, POP3, LDAP,
SSL, and HTTP. Courier provides ESMTP, IMAP, POP3, webmail, and mailing list
services within a single, consistent, framework. Individual components can
be enabled or disabled at will.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for the running instance, with no upfront commitment. The single price variable is the EC2 instance type you choose to run the Courier mail transfer agent software. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size and family, from small burstable types like t3.micro up to memory-, compute-, storage-, and accelerator-optimized machines such as r7iz, c7i, x2idn, and multi-terabyte u7i types. Larger or specialized instances carry higher hourly rates. Pick the instance that fits your workload; your cost scales with instance size and hours run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
You get the Courier mail transfer agent software running on the EC2 instance size you select. It ships preconfigured with anti-spam, anti-virus, and login rate-limiting tools. The hourly rate covers the software licence; the underlying EC2 compute is billed separately by AWS.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops accruing software charges. Note that stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the Courier software meters running hours only.
Does my cost change if I switch to a bigger instance type?
Yes. Each instance type maps to its own hourly rate. Moving from a small burstable type like t3.micro to a memory- or accelerator-optimized type raises your hourly cost. The change takes effect when you launch the new instance; you are not charged for both at once.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Start an instance with 1-Click, or optionally using your cloud provider's web/console
Have just a little patience: it does take a couple of minutes for all the background
services to start up in your instance. If you get connection refused or site error
messages - just wait a moment
Visit the admin portal via web browser https://your IP address or public DNS/webadmin.pl - the login username is admin and the password is your instance id.
Your product (and all supporting processes) is monitored and restarted via our monit suite. You can verify everything is 'OK' with the following:
