You pay by the hour for this hardened Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.5 image. Each pricing dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, and your rate depends on which instance you run. Options span many instance families, including general purpose, compute optimized, memory optimized, storage optimized, high memory, and GPU or accelerated types. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, and hardware capacity you select. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, with no long-term commitment required.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billing unit represent for this hardened Red Hat image?
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select, billed per hour. The rate covers the hardened operating-system image on that instance. You launch as many instances as you need, and each one meters its own hours separately.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running hours only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly image charge. You may still owe underlying AWS fees, such as storage for the attached volume, but those are separate from this listing's per-hour rate.
Do I need a long-term commitment to run this image?
No. Billing is pay-as-you-go by the hour, so you can start and stop instances without a contract. You pay only for the hours each instance runs. Rates scale with the instance size and family you choose.
