This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for support and maintenance by AskforCloud LLC.
AlmaLinux OS is an open-source, community-driven Linux operating system that fills the gap left by the discontinuation of the CentOS Linux stable release. AlmaLinux OS is a 1:1 binary compatible clone of RHEL guided and built by the community.
As a standalone, completely free OS, AlmaLinux OS. Ongoing development efforts are governed by the members of the community.

The hourly software charge meters running time only. When an instance is stopped, it does not accrue software charges. Underlying AWS charges, such as storage for the attached volume, may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are billed by AWS separately.
Each instance type carries its own hourly rate, and rates scale with size within a family. Moving to a larger instance means paying that instance's higher hourly rate instead. Billing switches automatically when you launch the new instance type; there is no upgrade step to arrange.
