Customer reviews
Digital avatars have increased face‑to‑face customer engagement for restaurant orders
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Soul Machines is that users come in wanting to order a few items from the menu from that restaurant, and the Soul Machines persona simply reviews what items they want from the menu, asks them if they want any drinks or something similar, reviews the order, and then submits the order.
Users respond to interacting with the Soul Machines persona in the restaurant setting by knowing it's a persona, not a real human, so they are slow interacting with it. Some users don't like the interaction and prefer to talk to a human instead, but some other users, especially younger users, are actually able to interact with it and submit an actual order. That's what we've noticed.
What is most valuable?
The best features Soul Machines offers include the ability to detect human face expressions.
I find the accuracy of facial expression detection quite good; it works well in real-world scenarios because when you smile, it smiles back, and when you frown, it just stops smiling. These are interesting features Soul Machines has.
Soul Machines has positively impacted my organization by providing interesting technologies to work with, one of which is creating personal avatars or avatars that could be used anywhere, which I think of as digital AI agents.
The positive outcome I see is more customer engagement because, unlike regular voice chatbots or chatbots, you have an agent to see and talk with, not only through the phone or chat but through video as well, so this increased customer engagement.
What needs improvement?
Soul Machines could be improved by enhancing its speech-to-text and text-to-speech services to make them more human-like.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Soul Machines for about two years in a project where I created a persona for a retail store for users to come in and order specific meals from that store, but more specifically from a restaurant, a big restaurant chain all around the world.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
In my experience, Soul Machines is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Soul Machines is scalable.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support I received was very good.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We previously used chatbots, and we switched to Soul Machines because of the interesting video aspect.
How was the initial setup?
From a setup perspective, I would like to have more integrations and more workflow integrations.
What about the implementation team?
My company has a business relationship with this vendor, as we are partners.
What was our ROI?
I haven't seen a return on investment since we used Soul Machines for a customer project, so we didn't have fewer employees needed whatsoever. We simply wanted to provide restaurants with a unique experience for customers, so that's how and why they used it.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Soul Machines, I did not specifically evaluate other options; it was my first pick.
What other advice do I have?
Regarding Soul Machines' AI capabilities, I think it is secure and its governance is also effective.
I find Soul Machines to be reliable and accurate in terms of its AI capabilities regarding output.
My advice to others looking into using Soul Machines is to play around with it, explore it, and see if it fits your needs because it's an interesting use case. I gave this review a rating of 8.
