Key Features
Presentation-attack detection against printed-photo spoofing, with additional attack types on the product roadmap
Sub-second latency suitable for real-time KYC and access control (target: under 500ms p95 in the Tokyo region)
REST API with X-API-Key authentication - drop-in integration with any existing identity verification stack, no SDK required
Single-shot static image input (JPEG/PNG, up to 10 MB) - liveness verdict from a single frame, no video capture flow required
Primary/Secondary API key design for zero-downtime key rotation
Customer console with TOTP MFA for usage, plan management, and key administration
Why Swallow Incubate
Founded 2013 in Tsukuba - Japan's national science city
12 granted Japanese patents in human-sensing computer vision jointly with Panasonic - reflecting a decade of R&D across face, gaze, and iris technologies
Deployed in production by leading Japanese enterprises since 2022 via SDK (medical record authentication, access control, attendance systems)
Strengthening existing face recognition systems by adding liveness verification
Identity verification (KYC) for financial services, government, and digital health platforms
Physical access control combined with face recognition
Workforce attendance and time tracking with anti-spoofing
What This API Returns
A structured JSON response containing a boolean PAD verdict (isFakeFace), a likelihood score (isFakeLikelihood), and face-quality metadata (face rectangle, brightness, validity). The API does not perform face recognition (identity matching) - it is designed to complement existing face recognition systems by detecting presentation attacks.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.

You choose a plan based on how many API requests you expect each month. The Free tier gives you 50 requests for evaluation, with usage hard-capped so you cannot exceed it. Starter, Standard, Professional, Business, and Enterprise plans each include a set monthly request allowance: 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 30,000, and 100,000 respectively. If you go over your included requests, each plan charges overage at its own per-request rate. The Enterprise plan also offers volume pricing through private offers for higher usage needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one API request for billing purposes?
Each call to the Liveness Detection API counts as one request. The API judges whether a face is a live person or a fake, such as a photo or phone screen. Both still-image judgment and action-based judgment run through the API, and each call you send counts toward your monthly allowance.
What happens if I exceed my plan's included monthly requests?
On the Starter, Standard, Professional, Business, and Enterprise plans, extra requests are charged at that plan's own per-request overage rate. Usage keeps working past the included amount. The Free tier is different: it is hard-capped at 50 requests, so requests beyond that are blocked rather than billed.
Does moving up a plan change the overage rate on my existing usage?
Each plan carries its own included allowance and its own per-request overage rate. When you select a different plan, the new plan's included amount and overage rate apply going forward. For higher usage, the Enterprise plan offers volume pricing arranged through private offers.
