Hosting Wowza Streaming Engine instances on Amazon EC2 is ideally suited to streaming of live events, one-to-many training, webinars, and company meetings and more, due to this setup's global reach. It is also an excellent choice for adding overflow capacity to your own dedicated Wowza software deployments, and for cost-constrained organizations that need the flexibility of starting small but the available capacity to cost-effectively scale as their business grows. With prebuilt Wowza AMIs that can be launched in any Amazon EC2 operational region, using Wowza Streaming Engine software on Amazon EC2 is simple. The licensing uses a paid Wowza Streaming Engine AMI, which includes unlimited transcoding for adaptive streaming, live-stream DVR, DRM, and all free AddOns.

Generally, fees paid are not refundable. We will, however, refund up to the amount of one Monthly Subscription Fee if you are not satisfied with Wowza Streaming Engine and request a refund during your first thirty (30) days of use.

What do you like best about the product?
Wowza Streaming has been a dependable platform for delivering our audiobook content to students. The streaming quality is consistent, with minimal buffering, even for large audio files. Its integration options and scalability made it easy to expand our library and serve more listeners without disruptions. The platform’s stability and flexibility have been key to providing a smooth learning experience."
What do you dislike about the product?
While Wowza Streaming works well for our audiobook use case, the initial setup required a steep learning curve, especially for configuring optimal audio-only streaming settings. The documentation is detailed but can feel overwhelming for new users. But Worth it.

We use Wowza Streaming to deliver high-quality, real-time audio book streaming for students. What do you like best about the product?
Honestly, Wowza just works. Once you get it set up, it's incredibly reliable for live streams and on-demand video, handling everything from small events to 24/7 channels without breaking a sweat. It plays nicely with any device or browser, which is a huge relief. I also love the flexibility - whether you run it on your own servers or use their cloud, and the APIs are great for integrating into custom setups. Plus, scaling up doesn't mean paying per stream, which saves us serious money.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting started can be rough - the setup is pretty complex, especially if you're new to streaming. The interface feels a bit dated, especially on mobile, and the licensing has a quirk: your license key isn't locked to your server IP by default, which could let someone else use it (happened to me once - support fixed it, but it was stressful). Direct support also costs extra, and overall, it’s pricey for smaller teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solved our biggest headaches: unreliable streams, buffering, and format issues. Now, we deliver smooth, high-quality video globally without constant troubleshooting. This means happier viewers, fewer support tickets, and more time to focus on growing our business instead of fixing tech fires. For us, it’s all about peace of mind and scalability.
