Start your engines. Strap yourselves in. Get ready to experience Formula 1 like never before!
About AWS Gameday: F1 League
AWS GameDay: F1 League is an interactive team-based learning exercise designed to allow players to put their AWS skills to the test in a real-world, gamified, risk-free environment. Most importantly, it is an extremely fun way to learn more about the potential of AWS without the step-by-step instructions provided in workshops or classroom-style sessions. If you are seeking an open-ended, multi-faceted style of training, then GameDay is perfect for you.

About the AWS x F1 partnership
Since 2018, F1 and AWS have innovated together through the use of AWS machine learning (ML), launching over 20 data-driven F1 Insights on live TV that offer unique race strategy, car performance, and competitor insights to fans.
Every F1 car contains 300 sensors generating 1.1 million telemetry data points per second transmitted from the cars to the pits.
Using Amazon SageMaker, F1’s data scientists are training deep-learning models to extract critical race performance statistics, make race predictions, and give fans insight into the split-second decisions and strategies adopted by teams and drivers.
F1 worked with AWS to run aerodynamic simulations that contributed to the 2022 car design and more of the wheel-to-wheel action that fans love.
AWS is supporting Formula 1 as it works towards being Net Zero Carbon by 2030, exploring opportunities for sustainability.

AWS powers F1’s Data Journey
When it comes to F1 racing, there’s no cutting corners—but with the power of AWS, data-driven insights make it easier to inform split-second decisions that lead to victory. Learn how AWS powers F1 to manage their data architecture—getting data where it needs to go and driving key decisions at record speed.
AWS powers F1 Insight: Close to the Wall
Close to the Wall provides fans and broadcasters a unique view of exactly how close an F1 car gets to the wall at some of the Championship’s most exciting corners. F1 calculates the distance from the wall of the closest part of an F1 car using special cameras and a fusion of deep neural network and computer vision algorithms. This is done using a four-step process of frame acquisition, car’s movement detection, trajectory estimation, and an output of the algorithm.
Data is F1’s differential
AWS powers F1 to peel past the competition with data. From the Next Gen car to speeding around corners, posting faster lap times, and revolutionizing the sport of racing.
F1 Insights dominate with AWS
Track Dominance, the latest F1 Insight powered by AWS, shows race fans precisely where drivers dominate compared to rivals on an F1 track, from corners to straightaways.
AWS powers F1 Insights
The new ‘Undercut Threat’ graphic launching this weekend, the latest in the F1 Insights series powered by AWS, will provide fans and broadcasters an opportunity to understand which cars are at threat from an ‘undercut’ i.e. if the car behind them pits at the end of the lap, will they lose a position to this car, or more positively which cars have the possibility of making an undercut.
AWS powers F1 Insights
The new ‘Pitlane Performance’ graphic launching this weekend, the latest in the F1 Insights series powered by AWS, will provide fans and broadcasters an opportunity to dissect the whole of the pit stop event, to understand the time being lost and found from the moment the driver dives into the pit lane and exits the other end.
AWS powers F1 Insights
"Start Analysis" debuted at the Turkish Grand Prix in October and is the latest in the F1 Insights series powered by AWS. It provides fans and broadcasters with an opportunity to see the data behind each driver's attempt at a perfect start in comparison to their closest rivals.
AWS powers the F1 Media Processing Framework
Discover how AWS architected a custom remedy for managing the Formula 1 media assets of years past, and years to come, using the Media2Cloud (M2C) reference implementation by AWS Solutions.
