Advancing federal HPC capabilities: New workshop empowers public sector cloud computing
The use of high performance computing (HPC) in federal agencies is evolving rapidly, and AWS is offering an innovative new workshop designed specifically for public sector requirements. The AWS Department of Defense (DoD) HPC Center of Excellence (CoE) has launched the HPC for Public Sector workshop, a comprehensive training program that addresses the unique challenges faced by federal organizations in deploying HPC workloads to the cloud.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is excited to announce that it is bringing its Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance Program to Thailand to develop emerging technology and cloud skill talent in support of Thailand’s digital transformation goals. AWS has trained more than 50,000 individuals in Thailand with cloud skills since 2017.
Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit now available on AWS Artifact
EDUCAUSE and the Shared Assessments working group collaborated with Internet2 and REN-ISAC, to create the Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit (HECVAT). EDUCAUSE is a non-profit association committed to advancing the use of technology and data in higher education. The HECVAT is a third-party, vendor questionnaire framework designed for higher education institutions to evaluate the security and privacy posture of cloud and technology providers. It is intended to centralize vendor security and compliance information for ease of use. Amazon Web Services (AWS) now offers both the HECVAT Lite version and Full version to customers on-demand.
Amazon Bedrock launches with Claude 3.5 Sonnet in the AWS Top Secret cloud
Amazon Bedrock is now generally available in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Top Secret cloud. 39 new or updated datasets available on the Registry of Open Data on AWS
The AWS Open Data Sponsorship Program makes high-value, cloud-optimized datasets publicly available on Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS works with data providers to democratize access to data by making it available to the public for analysis on AWS; develop new cloud-based techniques, formats, and tools that lower the cost of working with data; and encourage the development of communities that benefit from access to shared datasets. Through this program, customers are making over 100 petabytes (PB) of high-value, cloud-optimized data available for public use. This quarter, AWS released 39 new or updated datasets.
