Windows 10 end of support is almost here – Run Windows 11 on Amazon WorkSpaces
Microsoft ends support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025 – approximately three months from today – after which you will no longer receive free security updates, feature updates, or technical support.
The good news? Amazon WorkSpaces is a great place to run Windows 11—providing a highly secure, cost effective, pay-as-you-go environment that allows you to support a wide range of users while quickly scaling with the needs of your business. In addition, WorkSpaces customers have the flexibility to bring their existing Microsoft 365 Apps and Windows 11 OS licenses to the AWS Cloud.
Existing WorkSpaces customers can navigate the Windows 10 to Windows 11 migration today.
Currently running Windows desktops on an on-premises VDI solution and looking for more flexibility and lower costs? We recently announced updates to WorkSpaces Core with more configuration options (including non-persistent instances) and the ability to leverage EC2 Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
If you are managing a fleet of older devices that are incompatible with Windows 11, there are cost-effective options to consider. You can refresh your fleet with Amazon WorkSpaces Thin Client (starting at just $195/device) and access Windows 11 on WorkSpaces. Or, consider repurposing the devices by installing Chrome OS Flex and accessing Windows 11 on WorkSpaces as discussed in this recent article from StorageReview.
WorkSpaces gives you the flexibility to choose the path to Windows 11 that best meets your specific requirements.
