Desktop and Application Streaming

Simplify Device Redirection in Amazon WorkSpaces Personal and Amazon AppStream 2.0 Using FabulaTech Software

The AWS and FabulaTech teams collaborated to enhance the End User Computing (EUC) experience. As part of this partnership, our friends at FabulaTech launched a partner solutions page. This page demonstrates their peripheral redirection capabilities that work seamlessly with Amazon WorkSpaces Personal and Amazon AppStream 2.0. These solutions provide customers with a richer EUC experience by supporting locally connected printers, scanners, USB devices, smart cards, and serial ports. The FabulaTech solution handles device redirection, communication protocols, and data transfer and allows end users to access locally connected devices from their WorkSpaces and AppStream sessions. In the case of URL redirection, the system directs web browsing to the user’s local device instead of within the virtual session. This approach reduces the processing and memory load on the WorkSpaces or AppStream session, minimizes bandwidth usage through the remote protocol, and enhances security by isolating web browsing from the virtual environment. By integrating local device functionality with AWS EUC services, FabulaTech’s solutions optimize the virtual desktop and application streaming experience.
