AWS for SAP

Build AI-Powered SAP automations seamlessly with Amazon Quick Automate

Every day, enterprises grapple with a fundamental challenge: SAP systems contain business critical data that drives enterprise operations—from supplier relationships and inventory levels to financial transactions and production planning. However, accessing this data for workflow automations has traditionally required complex custom integrations, specialized SAP knowledge, and significant development time. Business processes that rely on both SAP and non-SAP data have traditionally required extensive developer effort to integrate these sources. Line of business teams, including supply chain managers need real-time disruption analysis, finance teams want automated exception handling for invoices, and procurement specialists require instant supplier risk assessment. And yet turning these business needs into automations have remained complex – until now.

AWS Action Connectors for SAP in Amazon Quick Suite

Earlier this month, AWS announced Amazon Quick Suite, a new agentic teammate that helps employees transform how they find insights, conduct deep research, automate tasks, visualize data, and take actions across applications. Quick Suite integrates with popular third-party applications such as SAP, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, Asana and more, to ingest data and allow users to create tasks, open tickets, and take action within the Quick Suite interface.

This blog discusses the built-in connectors for SAP available within Quick Suite and how customers can leverage these connectors to build powerful automations using Amazon Quick Automate to streamline their business operations. Quick Automate is a capability of Quick Suite that enables enterprises to build, deploy and maintain resilient automations at scale. The AWS Action Connectors for SAP helps customers to perform real-time read operations against live SAP data, enabling Quick Automate to seamlessly interact with SAP ERP Systems like SAP S/4HANA. Additionally, these connectors handle the technical complexity of SAP APIs, authentication, and data exchange automatically. Quick Automate is transforming enterprise automation by making complex SAP integrations accessible to business users through structured workflow definitions and Process Definition Documents. Instead of waiting months for custom development, customers can now build AI-powered SAP automations in hours.

This release includes 5 connectors for SAP S/4HANA, that address common enterprise automation scenarios. Each connector provides specific API endpoints as actions, enabling precise data retrieval (Read-Only) and workflow automation:

  • Business Partner: Access comprehensive business partner, supplier and customer data for vendor analysis and customer demographics assessments.
  • Product Master: Retrieve essential material data, plant information, and supply planning details for comprehensive inventory management.
  • Bill of Materials : Query material structures and component relationships to understand product dependencies and manufacturing requirements.
  • Physical Inventory Documents: Access inventory document postings and stock movements for accurate reconciliation processes and comprehensive audit trail maintenance.
  • Material Stock: Get real-time inventory levels and stock positions by location for precise availability tracking and inventory optimization.

For detailed API specifications, you can reference the corresponding SAP API documentation for each service endpoint. When configuring automations, use the action names listed to access the specific data sets your automation scenarios require.

How Genpact has Automated Supply Chain Risk Assessment on behalf of their customers using Amazon Quick Automate

Genpact is an agentic and advanced technology solutions company recognized for its deep industry knowledge, process intelligence, and last-mile expertise. With it’s deep industry expertise and business process acumen, the company has partnered with AWS and built an AI-powered supply chain resiliency solution on Quick Automate to transform enterprise risk management. Equipped with the solution’s intelligent, automated supply chain monitoring capabilities, organizations can assess disruption impact across multiple SAP modules in minutes—a dramatic improvement from the 2-3 days typically required for manual analysis. When external risk monitoring systems detect supply chain disruptions, the automated workflow immediately orchestrates data collection across Business Partner Master, Product Master, Bill of Materials, and Inventory Management systems, calculates business impact priorities, and triggers appropriate response actions such as alternative sourcing and stakeholder notifications. This breakthrough solution provides around-the-clock supply chain protection with real-time cross-system coordination, positioning Genpact as a leader in AI-powered business process transformation.

With Quick Automate and SAP connectors, you can create a structured workflow through an intuitive User Interface, that outlines the automated response process:
