Heirloom automatically refactors mainframe applications’ code, data, job control definitions, user interfaces, and security rules to a cloud-native platform on AWS. Using an industry-standard TPC-C benchmark, we demonstrated the elasticity of Heirloom on AWS, delivering 1,018 transactions per second—equivalent to the processing capacity of a large mainframe. The AWS Service Broker is an open source project that allows native AWS services to be exposed directly through application platforms, such as Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. Developers are able to provision and expose AWS through the Service Catalog, CLI, or API without needing to interact with the AWS console, or without having extensive knowledge of AWS. In response to customer feedback, we have added new features to AWS Service Broker for OpenShift and Kubernetes.

Cloud Insight Essentials is an Alert Logic solution available in AWS Marketplace. It is a vulnerability assessment solution allowing customers to find risky configurations that go against AWS Security Best Practices. The solution does this by analyzing AWS APIs and scanning AWS CloudTrail events looking for unsafe configurations. Cloud Insight Essentials also provides security context for the complete list of Amazon GuardDuty findings so customers can take short- and long-term actions to reduce potential security threats.

Amazon FreeRTOS code for ESP32 is now available on the Amazon FreeRTOS GitHub repository. Espressif Systems is a multinational, fabless semiconductor company that has been focused on producing connected microcontrollers and System-on-Modules (SoMs) for the emerging mobile and IoT markets. Espressif has worked diligently to connect a number of their popular IoT SoMs to AWS IoT services.
