Organizations across industries are rapidly adopting generative AI technologies, with an AWS Study: Generative AI Adoption Index showing that 45% of IT decision-makers rank generative AI tools as their top budget priority for 2025. These organizations are leveraging large language models (LLMs) and foundation models (FMs) to create innovative applications that transform customer and employee experiences.

However, this technological advancement brings significant security challenges around data privacy, model integrity, and system availability.

In this post, we’ll explore how AWS Partners help organizations secure their generative AI initiatives and leverage AI-powered security solutions to streamline security measures while fostering innovation at scale.

Generative AI security landscape

While generative AI brings transformative benefits across business units, it also introduces complex security challenges that demand specialized expertise. Organizations face challenges in data privacy, model integrity, system availability, potential abuse, and threat detection. AI-specific vulnerabilities like model poisoning, prompt injections, insecure output handling, and data leakage require innovative security solutions to identify and mitigate risks across the entire AI workload, including models, tools agents, datasets, and other deployment resources.

The path to implementation isn’t without obstacles—according to the same AWS Study, organizations identify lack of skilled AI workforce as the biggest barrier (55%) preventing them from taking generative AI experiments into production. With 65% of organizations planning vendor collaboration for deployment, AWS Partners are emerging as key enablers of secure AI transformation.

Securing AI environments with AWS Security Competency Partners

A Canalys study shows that 87% of customers highlight AWS Specializations as a top three criteria for Partner selection. The AI Security category for AWS Security Competency Partners helps customers easily identify Partners with deep experience in securing AI environments.

The AI Security category addresses security concerns identified by NIST, MITRE, and OWASP’s top 10 for LLM applications, such as model poisoning, hallucination, prompt injections, and data leakage.

Partners in the AI Security category are validated for their deep technical expertise and proven customer success in key areas like AI data privacy protection, threat detection and response, model integrity, system availability, and abuse prevention.
