Worst support I have ever had in my whole long career

  • October 17, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
varied product compatibiilty and support most of our infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have had this product for several months and I can’t get it to work and every case I have created gets an automated message every week saying they are working on it but I have never had an actual response.

Then I get frustrated and close the case and create a new different one, and the automatted feedback message gives a link to give 5 stars on everything and submits it with no input.

The absolute worst and then they pad the numbers with the false 5 star reviews.
We very much regret this purchase
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just general backup

Has consistently offered robust cross-platform capabilities and impressive support

  • July 30, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Our main use cases for Commvault Cloud are primarily BFSI and banking.

What is most valuable?

The most helpful features of Commvault Cloud are its extensive capabilities, as they are in a position to take care of whatever use case presented to it.

Commvault Cloud provides features for managing multi-cloud environments.

Commvault Cloud has deduplication technology as part of its features.

What needs improvement?

I don't see any issue with storage efficiency or performance of the application; the only issue is it's a costly solution.

It's quite costly, but I would still consider it's worth the investment.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Commvault Cloud for approximately three years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

It is not difficult to deploy Commvault Cloud; however, it requires good skills and a competent person to implement it, while Veeam will be completely simpler to deploy.

If a person knows what they are doing, deploying Commvault Cloud can take a few hours to a few days, depending on the use case.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I do not experience difficulties related to stability; the product is good in that regard.

I have not faced any downtimes with Commvault Cloud. The concerns arise more when I want changes or need to do some configuration, and if a bug appears, I reach out, and they are good at assisting.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would consider that Commvault Cloud is scalable enough for those types of applications, as we are using them for multiple applications.

How are customer service and support?

I am reasonably satisfied with Commvault Cloud's technical support team; however, the primary aspect is the number of people on the ground, which is limited, and the number of people who know Commvault Cloud is lesser compared to Veeam.

If I have an issue, it will indeed take more time to receive a response because they have limited resources, but otherwise, Commvault Cloud has reasonable support, although they will not come on-site and it will be remote support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

The main difference between Commvault Cloud and Veeam is that Commvault Cloud is much more real cross-platform and multi-cloud, designed for a real, exhaustive, real cross-platform, cross-cloud environment, evident in terms of a single pane of window. Veeam is more geared towards different types of use cases, as Veeam has naturally been for virtual environments and has been shaping up quite reasonably for cloud, being much simpler in terms of usability compared to Commvault Cloud.

What other advice do I have?

The concerns arise more when I want changes or need to do some configuration. On a scale of one to ten, I rate Commvault Cloud a nine.

Commvault Made Backup Management Simple

  • June 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Commvault Cloud has definitely been a most valuable tool during my internship. Its dashboard is straightforward to navigate, and the compatibility between Commvault and AWS and Azure was done me most smoothly and efficiently, I also loved it. My main activity in it was to create the backup jobs that were set to be executed automatically for the virtual machines and the databases, which in turn freed us up for some other activities. The restore process was speedy and reliable, which I found really comforting when we had to do disaster recovery scenarios. Commvault served as a bridge that interconnected the on-prem and cloud environments, and thus it could be sure that backups are consistent without changing the manual part of the process a lot. At the same time, it made our team feel more confident about data safety. Additionally, the deduplication feature helped us save a good amount of storage space.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup might be a little too much for new users to handle. A few high-level settings were not very clear, and one had to look into the documentation to get the information, which could have been more nicely arranged. Besides, the cost arrangement for several cloud storage choices was not very clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Commvault Cloud has been a great partner in addressing the challenge of handling backups in our data centers as well as in the cloud. Without having to resort to manual scripts or a myriad of tools, we were able to automate and centralize our backup and recovery operations. This not only saved us time and lowered human error but also increased our confidence regarding data loss or system failures. Moreover, it contributed to the better utilization of storage through features such as deduplication.

My Experience with G2

  • June 26, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Commvault Cloud offers a highly reliable and centralized platform for managing data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. What I like most is the simplicity of managing complex data protection tasks through a single interface. The automation features, policy-driven backup schedules, and integration with AWS and Azure make it easy to ensure compliance and data availability without manual intervention. It also provides detailed reporting and analytics, which help in proactively managing risks and optimizing storage.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Commvault Cloud is a powerful platform, the initial setup and configuration can be quite complex, especially for new users or smaller teams without prior experience. The user interface, though improved over time, still feels a bit overwhelming due to the number of features and settings available. Also, some error messages could be more descriptive to help in quicker troubleshooting. Licensing and pricing models can be a bit confusing at first as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Commvault Cloud helps solve the challenge of managing and protecting data across multiple environments — on-premises, cloud, and hybrid. It consolidates backup, recovery, and disaster recovery into a single platform, which reduces the complexity and overhead of using multiple tools. This has improved our operational efficiency and significantly reduced recovery times during outages or accidental deletions. The built-in automation and reporting also ensure we meet compliance requirements without manual effort, ultimately saving time and reducing risk.

  • June 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Commvault Cloud provides a unified platform for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid data protection. One of the most significant benefits is the ease with which backups, disaster recovery, and workload migration can be managed through a single interface. It also seamlessly interfaces with a variety of storage systems, including VMware, AWS, and Azure. The interface is user-friendly, detailed reporting is available, and policy-based automation significantly reduces the amount of manual effort necessary.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup may be a little challenging, especially for inexperienced users or smaller IT teams. There is a considerable learning curve for setting up policies and understanding all of the features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Commvault Cloud is taking on the difficulty of managing data protection across a distributed infrastructure. It provides the centralization of backup and recovery solutions across virtual, cloud, and on-premises settings.
