API Security - Traceable
What do you like best about the product?
Traceable product is the one-stop solution for Discovery, Catalog, AST scan and Monitoring. The Traceable team is customer-centric. Their willingness to customize and adapt according to the API security requirements is impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far i had pleasant experience with the team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Discovery, Automated scans , Sensitive data identification and Monitoring.

What do you like best about the product?
The technology "works" and has given us the API visibility and enforcement we have been looking for for a long time. That said, what sets Traceable apart is their relentless commitment to customer success and value realization. Their entire account and management team truly raise the bar when it comes to customer obsession.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this point, frankly nothing. They've ticked all the boxes and more and we just hope they are able to sustain this level of excellence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a very complex environment and we have always worried about API security. We never felt confident that we had the necessary visibility to take into account all the APIs we had, and moreso, having the controls and enforcement required to keep them secure.

Breadth of features/capabilities, excellent support, completeness of vision, etc.

Can't think of any noteworthy downsides...

What do you like best about the product?
Traceable offers a variety of deployment options, acknowledging the complexity of Cloud Infrastructure. Ensuring complete visibility of API endpoints is crucial, and Traceable's diverse deployment strategies are designed to maximize coverage.
The platform is equipped with a powerful blocking mechanism that can operate either at the endpoint level or at the network level, by integrating with third-party Web Application Firewalls (WAFs). This versatility allows us to tailor our inline blocking strategies effectively.
Furthermore, the support service provided by Traceable is remarkable. It ranks among the best that my teams have encountered from any vendor. The Traceable team has consistently demonstrated their responsiveness and sensitivity to the timelines and intricacies of our environments. Their strong, dedicated support team is commendable.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few technical limitations that we've encountered, although I understand that Traceable.ai is actively working on improvements in these areas.
Our use of the mirroring mechanism for certain endpoints has highlighted a few potential enhancements:
Currently, we filter data after it has been sent to the Traceable platform. This process results in us incurring costs for transmitting data that will eventually be redacted or discarded upon reaching Traceable. It would be advantageous if we could implement filtering prior to data transmission.
Mirroring traffic is a significant cost factor. If there were a method to compress the data before mirroring, it would lead to considerable savings.
We have also faced challenges due to ECS Fargate not supporting PPS Auto Scaling. This issue has necessitated substantial troubleshooting on our part. Any potential solutions to this would be greatly appreciated.

Support is outstanding
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to install, outstanding one-on-one support from the CSM, and reporting is extensive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, the product didn't cover Microsoft dot net services. This was very recently corrected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Traceable's assistance, we are better able to monitor our system, find bottlenecks in performance between services. Having a WAF that works at all levels of our system not just at the edge gives some piece of mind. The self adapting AI part sets the product apart from the other's I've looked at.
Traceable is the current state-of-the-art in API Security
What do you like best about the product?
With the ability to transparently observe real-world traffic going through our public and internal APIs, Traceable is able to automatically construct its own API definitions in order to begin driving tests and start protecting our APIs from day 1.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are still early in our roll-out of Traceable and are still grappling with eliminating false positives, classifying the severity of discovered vulnerabilities, and getting them automatically assigned to the right team with a proper SLA. While Traceable has some support for managing each of these, I look forward to it becoming even easier to configure and customize in the future.

Traceable is learning, testing, validating, and securing our APIs.

What do you like best about the product?
It has AST scanning which can be automated and runs periodically. The analysis of API is useful as well for purpose besides security, so thats a plus which comes along.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel traceable environment deletion feature is in the process of rolling out, and when it get shipped it'll be good to delete environments whenever need comes by.

Make our APIs more robust(internal and external).

- The ability to monitor and trace the east-west traffic across different endpoints.
- Very few false positive alarms in terms of Threat actors.

What do you like best about the product?
Intelligent and cloud-based API Security Solution Platform that can provide and analyze very granular data and details of our APIs, which is helpful, especially on security operations.

So far, at this point in time of our project implementation with Traceable, there's none I can think of, our counterpart from Traceable has been very helpful so far.
