Overall a really powerful solution

What do you like best about the product?
Probably my favorite part of Kandji’s offering is the onboarding options for new users. I really like the ability to have the employee sign in with their credentials to ensure it is an authorized user, removing unnecessary onboarding screens from employees (or enforcing specific option selection) to make the experience less overwhelming. I also particularly like how it can be configured to full screen, shows what is being installed for the user, the status, so that the end-user clearly understands what is happening. It then gives them options to learn more.

Kandji also has fairly frequent updates and they do a really good job of announcing these (via slack, email, etc) so that I as an administrator know about new options, OS updates that have been released that will be pushed to my users, etc.

Though most end-users at my org have full admin access and can install whatever they like, having the internal/self-service app store makes it easy for us to purchase apps and make them available to users, as well as showcase apps that we use internally so new users can find and install them easily. This is further enhanced by their wide range of auto-apps that makes apps not available through the app store available and updatable without work on my end.

Their support is responsive and they have a Github repo of scripts that can be used to perform common things admins need to do to extend the functionality the software already has.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike about Kandji is their minimum user count. I've rolled this software out at two startups and ideally I would like to roll out out when the organization is as small as possible, because deploying an MDM solution to any group is a bit difficult (especially if it adds restrictions). I would like MDM to be one of the first things a company deploys and the minumum user count makes it a hard sell.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We purchased this primarily for security/compliance reasons in order to meet the requirements of audit frameworks, but the user-enablement features of this solution make it something we're glad to pay for.

Easy Mac management, improves your Security and saves you time and money

  • May 19, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji makes your Mac management tasks very easy to complete.
Everything you need to configure is right there at the UI, no need to install software, or sign PKGs. Many of the Core apps are already built into the AutoApps library, so you can add them and make sure they are up to date on your fleet.
Okta is well integrated into the admin console, as well as in the User enrollment and Login (Passport) window. Even Okta's Device Trust is supported and easy to configure.
Operating systems upgrades are also present, no need to run scripts - just set the date and version, and Kandji will enforce it.
Kandji's Support team is super responsive and most of the time will resolve the issue/question inside the chat box!
Migrating to Kandji from Jamf was quick and easy, and was completed in half the time we first planned.
The product team does listen to the customer, and improve features when I ask for them.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no email notifications.
Slack notifications are limited.
Reporting can be improved.
No dashboards or visual representation of data - especially if you come from Jamf and used to their view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
From demoting user rights to okta sign in, software upgrades (aka patch management) and OS upgrades.
Kandji saves me time and money.

Kandji is making the management of all our devices in our company easy. Onboarding and offboarding employees is a fast process. With tightly managed blueprints we can ensure we stay true to our ISO 27001 standard

Visibility into the state of devices in our fleet. Remote management of applications. The service team is always responsive and helpful.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji is easy to use.You can operate Apple devices quickly and efficiently even if you don't have in-depth admin knowledge of Apple device management.
Its pre-built library of applications and blueprint settings, ensures that we maintain a high standard of security and compliance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing structure is, especially for a non-profit organization like ours, on the higher end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Great Scalable MDM solution

  • May 07, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use with patch management and zero-touch deployment. Excellent support team with knowledgeable admins. Was able to enroll 200 devices with ease. Continued new features are making the product even better.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs more auto-app apps. Prism needs a bit of work for false positives or inaccuracies in reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing our Apple fleet globally across 4 continents. This allows users to self-onboard without the need for IT to be directly there to provide support. We can ensure all devices are up to our security standards and enforce restrictions and patch management with ease.

Strength in simplicity, But don't let that fool you.

  • May 06, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The admin console is so intuitive and simple to use. Loads of preconfigured library items and parameters. You can simply and easily set up a funtional blueprint and take advantage of the platform from day 1. But dont let that fool you, It has powerful custumization available through scripting and profiles.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since Prism was added, I am struggling to find something I dislike about the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest pain point Kandji solved for me was our enpoint hardening. We use the CIS hardening model. Pre-Kandji I had to spend a lot of time scripting out the policies. Then Mac would send out an update or OS upgrade and I would need to tweak, re-write, or create new scripts to enforce the policies. Kandji changed all that. The provide the scipting and/or configs for several endpoint hardening standards. All we have to do now is toggle a swithch. The time savings is incredible.

Kandji Makes MDM EASY

  • May 02, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity and clarity of the platform is it's strongest suit. The support staff is friendly and always willing to assist, even with the small stuff.
I have implemented Kandji in 2 organizations, and the first time it was fun to learn and the second time it was so simple it took 2 days to get us from 0 MDM to fully secure and manages machines.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only real limitations of Kandji are:

1. They don't do Windows (this is mostly a joke)
2. Sometimes the platform can lack some native apps for less popular business segments. But they are always working on it to improve!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ease of deployment, ease of re-deployement and overall system hardening.
It ensures we maintain our SOC2 Type 2 compliance, and that our end users have no trouble getting a new machine in no time at all.
We also never have bricked devices due to Apple ID or machine lockouts.
