Easy to configure, simple deployment, and amazing support!
What do you like best about the product?
Kandji has been an excellent solution for managing our Apple devices. The UI is incredibly easy to navigate. Kandji made each MacOs/iOS setting and policy easy to understand, even for someone with a strong Windows background and completely new to Apple administration. When I have questions, the support team is outstanding in explaining and resolving issues, and always provide good resources so that I can become a better Apple admin. They also helped me understand what MDM can do vs what Apple restricts by default. Our POC was great and we transitioned seamlessly into a full production environment, allowing us to implement and deploy to our company quickly. We quickly setup SSO and added additional admins, and the library of documentation that Kandji has is a valuable resource in training our team on how to manage devices in Kandji. I am in the portal almost every day as I am in the optimization phase, and I am exploring ways to automate even more tasks with Kandji. We will continue to use Kandji when adding additional devices to our environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Blueprint settings were a bit confusing at first, however Blueprints "going away" and are being replaced with Assignment maps which I haven't dived into a ton at this time. I also wish there was a way to have 2 separate auto enrollment policies - One for Mac and one for iOS. Its nice that we could connect ABM to Kandji and have easy laptop setup as soon as we purchase Macs, however, we have to manually set each iPad to the correct Blueprint since you can only have 1 Blueprint as default ( in our case, the dedicated Mac Blueprint). I also wish there was a search function when selecting specific devices to be added to a Library item - right now, we have to manually type out the name or serial number of a machine, and it wont tell you if you enter a name/serial that doesn't match something in your instance.
These are small details - the overall Kandji service is great and I would highly recommend.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji is helping us solve issues we had with overall Apple device management. Building new Macs for staff was a hassle before, due to all of the permissions, settings, and app installations that must be completed before handing it to the user. As best practice, users do not have admin permissions to change privacy settings, so being able to set many of these permissions via the MDM is game changing. It took our Mac builds from over an hour to 30 minutes, and now we know we have consistent builds and security across our environment.
We recently added iPads to our org and use Kandji MDM to mange those as well. We now have the features we need from Kandji to effectively deploy and mange these devices.
We are also able to update MacOS/iOS across our org much easier now. Kandji handles the communication, and options included when configuring updates allows you to customize updates to a schedule that works for your org.
It was helpful to understand the extent of what MDM's can do, vs what is a limitation of Apple devices, as this can help when making decisions about how to configure tools in your environment.
