Friendly interface supports different hold messages but call flow design and reporting need improvements

  • September 01, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use the product to replace 3CX.

How has it helped my organization?

It helped the organization consolidate multiple PBX systems into one.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are the friendly user interface, the ability to support different hold messages per department, and the good desktop and mobile clients.

What needs improvement?

The call flow design is extremely basic compared to 3CX and needs variable and loop capabilities to begin with. Calls using 'control' extensions do not move the call to the next point, and require manual 'follow_me' adjustments in Asterisk. Reporting is very basic. Live view and control of actual calls in the dashboard is missing and it only shows the call count.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for 2 months.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used 3CX, but I switched due to cost and the inability to control different on-hold messaging on the same PBX. I was forced to move to an inferior version, and I received an email stating that if I did not want to move to the new version, I had to find an alternate product.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is good, but I recommend making sure it has the correct features for your needs.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I did not consider any alternate solutions.

What other advice do I have?

Yeastar is based on an outdated version of Asterisk, so if you are using physical IP phones, some functionality may be limited or broken due to the lack or limitation of SIP headers that were improved in later versions of Asterisk.

What do you like best about the product?
It is quite intuitive, integrates very well with phone brands like Yealink, and is a step forward in replacing old analog exchanges.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the integration with Outlook at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The plants I have installed are becoming obsolete and these plants are giving me the opportunity to upgrade to VoIP products.

Why choose Yeastar

  • February 26, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
According to why choose Yeastar, it is for sustainability and very important functionalities to have the company's internal and external communications with very simple management, guaranteeing up to 3 years of hardware activity, providing confidence.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I don't like about the Yeastar P-Series is that it is limited to competing for more than 500 users, like an upgrade to support up to 1000 or 2000 users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There must be further development in the contact center topic to provide more detail and analytics.

Practicality and Innovation

What do you like best about the product?
The system is very easy to manage. The ease of self-hosting is the biggest benefit of the business, besides conveying greater reliability in the product to the customer. The technical support is quick and always efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Previously, a disadvantage of the solution was the minimum expansion of 100 users, but this no longer exists. With the possibility of adding 10, 20, or 50 users, it has become easier to close new projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the Yeastar P-Series PBX system, we can currently serve our small clients from 5 to 10 users up to clients with over 100 users.

Unified Communications

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Yeastar FQDN system provides secure access without the need to open ports.

The unification of communications with Linkus allows you to be operational with your company and clients wherever you are.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think there's anything I don't like about the Yeastar P-series; it's a very productive platform.

It could have a calendar with an independent schedule for each company or organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote work, remote assistance.

What do you like best about the product?
That adapts to the needs of the client user, it has plenty of tools so you always have what you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
I still haven't found anything I might dislike about the Yeastar PBX P series.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem to solve is having all my calls in one place, that is, my phone, which I carry with me everywhere thanks to Linkus Mobile from Yeastar P series.
