The integrartion with office is really easy make an account and the rest is done backups will be made from teams sharepoint mail agenda etc..
What do you dislike about the product?
there are not many downsides of hycu because we where one of the early addapters we have seen allot of the downside take away.
If there is a point for improvement it will be:
Within the office365 backup see how much storage a users uses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to use backup system for our servers to our storage on multiple location but also to the cloud.
Fast recovery to restore a server or recover from a disaster.
Backup of office365 for multiple customers.
Easy overview how many users are back-up.
Fast restore.
Great product, great support and easy to manage, the SaaS backup features are amazing
What do you like best about the product?
HYCU helps not only to reach RPO and RTO targets on backup but, more importantly, also for rescovery. The SLA based 'set and forget' features, the full integration with WORM capable storage an the pletora of online and on prem backup targets to choose from are great. Also, the online (protege) backup suite is great, easy to setup and never lets you down. Support (for running environment as well as while designing ans setting up) is one of the best I know, just like the channel support for us (as reseller/integrator)
What do you dislike about the product?
Need to rethink backup as you know it, if you try to recreate an existing backup environment, you will fail. You need to look at backup and recovery in a new, more functionally driven, way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It just works, integrates tightly with Nutanix platforms and on prem servers as well as cloud VM's. The SaaS platform backupo functionalitiet via low code integration si perfect. It allows us to backup SaaS environmens outside of M365 (think Github, Salesforce etc.).
HYCU has been a solid performer and offering
What do you like best about the product?
The sales and support teams have been very easy and reliable to work with. Our customers who have purchased HYCU love the products integration with Nutanix and its ease of use. Getting the solution up and running is simple, quick as well as effective. HYCU also offers features and services that other vendors in our portfolio do not, making it easier to protect a customers full environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
For on premise installs of HYCU we need to bundle in a third party if one isn't already in place. This would include a location where HYCU is installed as well as a backup target for the soltuion. Typically a location for the HYCU software is in place and available for that piece of the solution, often times if a customer is making an investment into their backup solutions a target(s) for backups need to be considered. This involves including at least one if not two other vendors into the solutions architecture.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HYCU is an intregal part of our solution offering. We have a number of partnerships in the Backup/DR space and it is important that each solutions be effective, simple to understand, use and deploy. HYCU fits this mold when offered to customers.
really good support and product
What do you like best about the product?
The support is really fast to answer the resquests/tickets.
Nutanix Knowledge really good.
User manual as well other guides really helpfull
What do you dislike about the product?
the search is quite laggy, cannot schedule backup more the hourly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
good integration with Nutanix
Very reliable, lightweight and capable backup solution
What do you like best about the product?
Installing and upgrading is very easy. Backups are executed reliably and HYCU does not need a Windows to run on. The support is excellent, cases are solved usually within a few hours. It works like a charm with Nutanix AHV and VMware vSpere, backup of MSSQL database is also easy. I check backups weekly and it takes only a few minutes even though we have four HYCU systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are a bit hidden in the GUI, you need to know where to click. The latest visual design is a bit too glaring to my taste.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our three Nutanix AHV clusters needed a reliable and inexpensive backup solution. At that point there were not many solutions and we chose HYCU. I have been very happy with the choice. The product has improved during the years and still it is not a bloatware.
We use HYCU for o365 and it is very easy to use, requiring little time.
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of use and the very responsive support
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no case that poses a problem for use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us not to lose data on our SaaS tools.
A highly efficient system
What do you like best about the product?
The support is very fast and friendly.
The interface is clear and quick to get used to.
Very easy for installation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The system updates that must be done via Nutanix or others, whereas previously it downloaded by itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Errors in handling, such as data deletion on a server, where we can choose to restore just the affected files and not the entire server. The automation of backups with retention where we have had no problems since the beginning.
Easy to setup, good support and stable product
What is our primary use case?
Protege is primarily used for backing up and restoring Azure technologies, including cloud-based services like AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, as well as on-premises virtual machines. This ensures that even if there's a server malfunction or cloud server outage, we can quickly restore our data and resume business operations.
What needs improvement?
One area for improvement would be expanding its capabilities beyond Azure-specific backups. It should also support on-premises servers and physical VMs in addition to cloud VMs. This would make Protege a more versatile solution for disaster recovery scenarios.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using it for six to seven months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Since it is on the cloud, it is a very stable solution. We have around four end users using this solution.
How are customer service and support?
The customer service and support were very responsive.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
When we started, we used Acronis for both cloud and on-premises backups.
Protege was a reliable solution, and the cloud-focused approach is well-suited for our current needs.
If you require both cloud and on-premises backup capabilities, Acronis is a more comprehensive solution. For solely cloud-based backups, Protege is a solid option.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was easy with the support team's assistance. They were prompt and helpful whenever I encountered issues.
What other advice do I have?
I would advise you to be aware that Protege is for backing up cloud-based virtual machines. It doesn't support on-premises physical VMs.
If you want just a cloud-based solution, then Protege is good to go.
If you need to back up both cloud and on-premises VMs, Acronis might be a better option.
Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
