Tailwarden provides exceptional AWS cost insights and management
What do you like best about the product?
Tailwarden is excellent at providing detailed cost insights for our AWS infrastructure. Given we still have credits, we were looking for a way to understand our costs without credits taking into consideration. Tailwarden does exactly, allowing us to see how much we would pay without any credits per resource, service, etc. We were able thanks to their custom dashboards to create tailored dashboards suite to our needs, which was great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, the UX/UI is great but there were a few times where I was not sure what was included in a cost. Sometimes, credits were, sometimes not. Fortunately, the documentation is quite clear and the Tailwarden team answers quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tailwarden allowed us to monitor costs without credits, and this is the first step to actually extend the duration of those credits as we were able to optimize our spendings thanks to it. I guess, on the long run, when credits will be over, Tailwarden will still allow us to see clearly our costs & optimize it by ensuring we don’t waste any money.
A great way to rediscover your infrastructure
What do you like best about the product?
I use it regularly to check the changes in my infrastructure costs, it's an excellent complement to AWS's costs & reports service. The interface is intuitive and creating custom dashboards is very quick. The integration with AWS is done very simply, everything is already prepared by the Tailwarden teams, and they have been responsive in helping me fine-tune certain settings. Risk management with the evaluation of certification rules is an asset, it allows for easily identifying where to correct obvious security elements.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product is still in development at the beginning of 2024, but the foundations are solid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tailwarden allows me to have a clear and transparent view of the elements composing my infrastructure. It allows me to easily find hidden costs, check if any infrastructure components have been miscategorized, and verify compliance elements.
It has transformed cloud cost management for us
What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Tailwarden is the clarity and control it brings to managing our cloud costs. The user interface is far more intuitive and informative compared to Google Cloud Platform's native tools. Tailwarden's ability to create custom dashboards has been invaluable for us, particularly as we handle multiple projects on GCP. It has made tracking our usage and expenditures straightforward and accessible. Moreover, the feature that highlights our real usage (compare to credits) helps us maximize our cloud investments without the guesswork.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main limitation we've encountered with Tailwarden is the lack of historical data points for cost analysis. We’re aware this is more of a restriction from GCP rather than a shortfall of Tailwarden itself, but still.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tailwarden has addressed our critical challenge of gaining precise and granular insights into our cloud costs. As a small AI company working intensively with NLP and LLM models on GCP, we deal with substantial computational expenses. Tailwarden has not only helped us monitor and manage these costs effectively but also enabled us to identify and eliminate unnecessary expenditures. By providing detailed cost analysis per team, it has fostered better budget management and accountability, allowing us to extend our runway and focus more resources on product development rather than overhead. This has been especially beneficial as we prepare to raise more funds to scale our operations.
