Since using Platform.sh I don’t have worry to wake up at night
What do you like best about the product?
With Platform.sh I don’t have to worry about the performance, availability and capacity of our hosting. Their tools allow our developers to focus on what matters and don’t worry about infrastructure. We are very flexible on what we need, for e.g., you need node.js, just add it to your config file and Platform.sh takes care of if.
What do you dislike about the product?
Really nothing to dislike on Platform.sh. We never encounter any blocker when we wanted to use or change something on our hosting. Really customer service takes a bit too long to answer a request, but other than that the service is great for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a media company, our day-to-day traffic can jump 200-300% more from the previous day. Depending on what we publish, we are often targets of DDoS or hackers. We also have to be very responsive to the news and sometimes we need to publish changes to our website. Platform.sh allows us to focus on our content and don’t worry about audience spikes, attacks and DDoS and to deploy several times a day without disrupting the experience of our readers. The deployment is totally transparent for them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a small team, use an Open Source CMS (or you own as well, it doesn’t matter). If you don’t want to be the on-duty person our of working hours. If you want to deploy any time (even on Friday). If you don’t want to worry about security. If your goal is just to code and push and see it working only. Platform.sh is the ideal service for you.
Very happy with move from fixed infrastructure to Platform.sh
What do you like best about the product?
SportRx moved it website hosting infrastructure from a traditional fixed footprint vendor to Platform.sh and AWS about 9 months ago. The new environment has been very stable and Platform.sh support has been very proactive and timely. Their Magento expertise were very valuable in optimizing our Platform.sh environment as well as the included Fastly CDN to improve our site's performance and stability.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the moment, the Platform.sh portal lacks customer visible metrics and notifications. But this is being addressed and we have been beta testers of their upcoming metrics functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The primary problems we've solved with Platform.sh are:
- An easily scalable cloud infrastructure compared to our previous fixed footprint environment.
- Triple redundancy at both web server and database server layers.
- Included staging environment with easy promotion to production.
- Git integration.
- Bundled and optimized Fastly CDN.
- Magento optimization expertise.

Platform.sh is all about the people, the staff they employ are of the highest quality and genuinely believe in their product.

Had to migrate approx 30 ancient wordpress sites across to platform.sh and the team were a fantastic help.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy to use and modern platform.sh i. Also I love that the customer support is really quick to answer and aid you if you have any problems. I like that you can host many different types of frameworks and solutions built with different tools on the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that I dislike about the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've used the platform for hosting Drupal websites. The main benefits for me are how easy it is to setup a project, and the different environments that you can spin up for example for dev/staging etc..

Platform.sh is a system that is based on the support of improving the development of web applications, I like this software as it offers opportunities for a new approach to companies that are dedicated to designing and creating functional pages with different environments, I feel like it in explicit and alternative circumstances, since it helps the most vulnerable companies in productivity to daily growth, offering important data at the same time, to promote an idea of an undertaking into a possible fact.
What do you dislike about the product?
Indecently we can emphasize that it does not contain a quality control management of each operation that any company wishes to carry out with this software, to provide its clients with indeterminable success, since this is not availability, which would be of great help at a general level , when operating the system, including that its user interface is not at all attractive and contains brief information about what the software is dedicated to being implemented initiative mind.

Platform.sh was integrated into the platform of our organization, as the main objective to achieve the innovations of each of our clients in their already initialized applications, since we mainly focus on our users, to offer them a special and unique service of According to the designs for their ventures, we fundamentally use this software to increase the productivity and performance of these individuals in a significant way, taking into account their entire operation on the web, that is, generally in every aspect that we support to improve successfully.

Is ideal for any category of companies, from saas entrepreneurs who seek to focus on their commercial value of operations and infrastructure of their web establishment, in a successful and effective way, according to the significant increase offered by this software of support in economic and structural growth, up to market leaders, to run their own cloud on the web, to obtain a massive income inflow, increasing its size more and more.
Better if you want a quick deployment and easy to learn.

The simplicity with which you can do things here are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
little resources to learn if you are new to this. Also Cron jobs cause little issue to web deployment.At first when you set up the platform command on your local you will get some headache because it requires you to have php installed along with some services turned on. Which I think can be improved but since there whole platform is dependent on php so it has to be there or if they can provide an .exe installer to install on windows so it will be great just a simple installer like software has.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I just came to give a try but it has been best giving you a free computer with no restrictions just do what you want to deploy with in a specific size.

A good platform as a service here you will have a complete control on your machine as if its is your local computer not like others giving you some resources on rent.

What do you like best about the product?
By far my favorite feature is VCS integration with services like Gitlab. Automated deployment of merge requests to isolated environments has been great for quality assurance.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features that do not carry into Platform.sh's enterprise offering which was particularly painful for one of our web applications. That said, out of 6 environments deployed to Enterprise, this was a blocker for just one of them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the end of the day, we are in the food & beverage industry; we let Platform.sh worry about CI/CD environment deployments so that we can keep our GitLab CI/CD simple - Test. Lint. Done.

Consider your application memory requirements and speak with a Platform.sh support representative to ensure that your required containers can scale to meet your needs.

Support. The team reacted very fast and are very knowledgeable.

UI is very developers oriented. It was fine for us as we were an agency but UI was limiting actual customer to go and do much.

We needed reliable hosting for our Symfony based application.

Just the right amount of control. Keeps you safe from yourself whilst letting you do your thing. Great support, pretty good documentation.

It takes a while to get used to the restrictions and learn how to work around them.

CI/CD. Real easy to spin up new development branches.
Realized how much time I was wasting before trying to set up a new environment. I used to have scripts, but they still required plenty of manual changes, vhosts and such. So much easier to just click "activate".
