Great platform for easy access for developers
What do you like best about the product?
As a devops engineer its giving me the chance for my developers to hit the ground running on projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be tricky to get information regarding the platform when moving workflows to production and filling security questionaiirs for clients.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saves so much time getting apps through dev > test >prod and being able to easily replicate any of those environments is invaluable.
Great idea, terrible execution with very high downtime (2019)
What do you like best about the product?
Simple git-based deployment of our website
What do you dislike about the product?
Some examples:
- Site down for 8h as platform has sent an email out saying "you may need to redeploy" after one of their software updates. This means (a) you need to get up at 1am UK time to monitor their updates and

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simplified continuous deployment, although ultimately it hasn't solved the problem
Great concept, poor customer service
What do you like best about the product?
The concept of a git-oriented platform that builds based on Git events is great. You push code to Github and get an URL where a product owner can test the changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately bad customer service overshadows that. For regular usage you still need to ask for a lot of support, and that is where problems begin.
Support is not customer oriented at all, and not focusing on solving the customer's problem. It takes months to clarify that there is a structural problem that makes it impossible to use the product in certain situations. Nobody of support will take the effort to give you a call, and management does not oversee this.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating the feature testing workflow, and thereby delivering faster (if Platform would have been reliable).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For simple prototypes and simple read-only blog websites the project will probably nicely work. For projects with over 5 pull requests a day and above average infra requirements it is favorable to build your own prototyping tool.
Git-based hosting deployment without the devops headaches and a ton of versatility.
What do you like best about the product?
The architecture and flexibility of Platform.sh is up there with the best. It's great to be able to use composer to manage dependencies and have a containerized system that builds those dependencies on each deploy. It's what you, as a developer, would build for yourself if you had the time. But really it's better because you don't have to build or maintain it.
There isn't much that can't be done, even compiling your own PHP extensions in your instance!
The documentation is thorough.

What do you dislike about the product?
We started using Platform.sh very early after they opened their doors. There have been growing pains, most of which have been resolved. The weakest points right now revolve around visibility and analytics into what your instances are doing. An example is that we've had sites run out of disk storage with no warning in the past. Although, more recently they've implemented an email warning about low disk space to resolve this issue. But analytics within the dashboard about disk storage would be even better.
Support is also a weak area, especially involving followup. The initial response is fast, but if there is any back and forth it seems like the ticket gets lost in the shuffle. The best way to deal with that is to jump into the Slack channel and ask for some attention on your ticket.
Despite these criticisms, it's still one of the best and most flexible systems we've ever used. And they are always improving. Most of my past pain points have been dealt with over the years.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Platform.sh for client Drupal websites with moderate to high traffic and high dependability.
Easy to use and works for all Drupal setups
What do you like best about the product?
Comprehensive documentation and prompt support
What do you dislike about the product?
Need to adapt client websites according to Platform.sh structure
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've saved time from not having to maintain the infrastructure, and being able to create multiple environments on the fly
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Once you get over the initial setup process, maintenance becomes a breeze.
Best CI Tool We have used till today
What do you like best about the product?
the fact that it takes care of all our CI/CD Needs helps us really like an internal Department.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can not think of anything at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We let platform.sh create and deploy all our QA and before-go-live servers and also out Live Server in a very professional way
Recommendations to others considering the product:
it's the best we've used. give it a try!
CI Tooling + Containerized Hosting = Win
What do you like best about the product?
Platform.sh focuses on professional developers by offering CI tooling. For most of our projects, we don't need to run an additional CI server; all our tests and linting can run during the Platform.sh build process.
Platform.sh offers flexibility similar to Heroku, being able to specify a wide range of environment configuration in a YAML file.
They worked extremely hands-on with my Enterprise clients and were able to satisfy compliance issues with them that other companies could not.
Overall, we've been really happy working the Platform.sh, both as users who purchase their services for our own sites and as vendors who help clients onboard into P.sh.

What do you dislike about the product?
Because Platform.sh serves a wide number of platforms, sometimes it can feel like a "jack of all trades, master of none". Their support is very responsive (Slack + ticketed), but it's impossible to hire support staff who know ALL platforms best.
Their Enterprise product behaves slightly differently than their self-service infrastructure; I believe these differences have been mostly (perhaps entirely) eliminated, but be sure to discuss them with Platform.sh sales and your onboarding team.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hosting/CI server for our clients. Creating QA environments.
Overall, biggest benefit has been combining the services we used to run on a dedicated CI server (Travis/Jenkins/CircleCI) and a managed hosting platform in one package. This has been more affordable for smaller clients, where having CI is a "nice to have" that would normally get tossed out due to price. Platform.sh gives developers the tools they need without breaking the bank for the clients.

Great easy hosting solution.
What do you like best about the product?
Great easy hosting solution. I love that it’s all based on git and secure with no writable directories. I pretty much never have to worrry. Plus it leaves me with a piece of mind knowing not much can go wrong.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike. It took a little bit to get familiar with the system but after that it’s fantastic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don’t have to worry about server management anymore. No need to stress about having someone watching the server all the time.
Don't worry about devops
What do you like best about the product?
Quality servers with high up time, perfect for high risk business
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be frustrating but if you know about cloud server configuration there is not a problem
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For a design agency that need flexible severs
Smoother, faster & safer deployments that are more fun
What do you like best about the product?
The peace of mind & great simple interface
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't dislike anything, everything works nicely
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More reliable hosting, faster to setup a new project or clone an existing one locally. Faster deployments saving time and money. Peace of mind with the 24/7 support.
