Easy and flexible
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to deploy without having a CI in between. You can mold it as per your requirement and focus on development. Definitely a time saver!
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about platform.sh.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are building multi site using Drupal.

Takes the hassle out of managing your own platform.

There are several minor inconsistencies in terminology in the UI.

Spend less time on dev ops and more on dev.

Look carefully at dev ops costs vs a cloud solution like platform.

the setup for new projects is very quick, and the deployment workflow straightforward

the console-user management could be enhanced, specifically regarding SSO / SAML integration
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use platform.sh to deploy application with standard requirements, when we don't want to setup more complex environments on public clouds

I haven't found anything that I dislike with the service / product as yet
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using platform.sh to host our Drupal websites. The key benefit of platform.sh to our previous hosting solution is that we can make changes to the hosting environment and appication code, test & deploy quickly. It has significantly decreased the continuous integration piece so making changes to our application has become significantly quicker, facilitate more rapid development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly reccommended - easy to use and implement. Might advise that some development experience is useful, but not a requirement as the documentation is extensive and detailed in simple to understand language
Deploy on Fridays - yes, it can be done
What do you like best about the product?
Platform's CLI tool is an excellent piece of kit, that we rely heavily on as part of our CI process.
What do you dislike about the product?
There could be better monitoring tools available. We need group functionality too to allow easier management of developers across multiple projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing servers. It's a bit of fun up until a certain level, and then its just pain. Pain that belongs to Platform now.

Platform.sh Sales/Technical department is simply remarkable, special mention for Felipe.
He was key on our company decided for migrating the whole of our portfolio by the time stored in AWS over to Platform.sh
Because of his skills as a former Software architecture he was remarkably helpful when dealing with migrating an specific multisite since the stakeholders wanted to confirm this architecture would continue to work in the same way after migrating to Platform.sh so on top of the Technical department and its support via Slack, Felipe worked even at late shifts to ensure our project was successfully migrated, up and running on Platform.sh
Because of this, we've now migrated another 3 projects (4 in total) and we're expecting to migrate another 4 by the end of 2020.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to add here. So far I can only tell good things about Platform.sh as a platform itself and over all about its support and sales team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can now spin up new projects in a matter of minutes, whereas it used to take us days when we stored our projects on AWS in addition to hire a DevOp to set up every different new project.
This is not required anymore, any dev in the team can now create/clone a new project and create up to 3 different environments just by creating a new branch.

The fact that not all of the languages are supported, but they are adding more and more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before, it took 3 months to build a hosting environnement. Now it's few days, and even few hours.
We have a hosting team internally but they are not devOps or cloud ready. With PSH we can now work on web solutions that we can deploy automatically in one click so our client can have their solution as soon as they want.

Provides a flexible hosting solution with a great 24/7 support.

Haven't met any downsides yet. The solution provided is great.

We are developing using different tools and we wanted a solution that supports CI/CD.
Platform.sh is a web hosting platform with the perfect blend of control and automation
What do you like best about the product?
The tooling is very well thought out, but what sets Platform.sh apart is that you can use the same provider for web applications that require vastly different technologies and development/integration workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
They still don't have a concept of organizations and teams when it comes to project ownership and access.

We're able to host and implement highly custom CI/CD strategy without using a slew of different providers.
