Great monitoring software
What do you like best about the product?
there is much information about this software, the forum on the site is very complete. I use it personally in my company.
the free version is useful for understanding the potential of this software., capable of simultaneously monitoring thousands of connected devices on the network

What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes the monitoring of some appliances is difficult, especially for some firewalls.
you need a basic knowledge of linux to be able to use it to the best..

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With this software I can do a complete tracking of all my company and customer systems.
I have set different alarms and is useful for optimizing and automating system controls. I use it in a SOC for H24 staff

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Handling triggers / alerts via templates saves you a lot of time and you do everything from web interface

Lots of examples at internet and very easy to start using

nothing in mind, maybe the web interface could be better.

Zabbix helps us monitoring servers and resources to avoid outages.

You can acquire data using Zabbix for building beautiful charts on grafana.
Great monitoring platform
What do you like best about the product?
Simple to setup and easy to manage solution. Very little in-depth tech skills needed to deploy initially and raft of templates available for free online to make it an essential monitoring tool for any business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support, if you want it - looked to be costly if you simply want light email only assistance on your setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is our core monitoring platform, used to montior all servers and perimeter for any issues in the network. We utilise it to alert the team on any low disks, failed devices or loss of ping to certain aspects of the network. It also monitors flow and other metrics via SNMP with a single pane view for easy management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A little linux knowledge is recommended, but not hard to pick up. The online forums are also great. I would advise checking template galleries prior to implementation to ensure that you have correct monitoring templates for the kit you will be checking, else creation is a little cumbersome manually.
Not bad, if you will work on it
What do you like best about the product?
Zabbix is extremely flexible while having a good architecture for reducing repeating yourself. It has a lot of information available and the ability to customize how you see it. Its support of ipv6 was critical to my decision making as I don't want to have to switch monitoring tools later. I also enjoy changing the interface, as it is relatively easy even if it is via PHP. I suppose I could make a frontend in something else if I really wanted to, as it's all just pulling from the database. This makes report generation simple as well, though I am not doing this in any sort of fancy way yet.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not very intuitive and frankly their documentation is not very consumable. You basically have to read a lot more than you really should need to in order to get how Zabbix works. Luckily there's a wealth of tutorials out there for a variety of scenarios to get you started. It also supports things that helped me choose it over previous tools I've used for this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I just needed to know what the states of various pieces of infrastructure were. I was pleased that I could also take action upon certain error types, some of which was built in but I could extend it with my own logic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be ready to read. All these tools need you to learn a lot about them as they are doing complicated things. Once you're in there it's much easier as you grow your core concepts in the tool.
A very good open source monitoring tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to setup from scratch, a very good open source monitoring tool through which u can monitor ur hardware utilization of the servers, have alerts around them. Same can be done for monitoring services running in the servers.It is a very light service which does not hog your memory up nor our processor. Very good tool for devops.
What do you dislike about the product?
Zabbix UI needs improvment, most of the thing aren't self explanatory. Can be a little tricky for beginners.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Zabbix is a good open source monitoring tool, which is very simple to use and easy to integrate.
Good monitoring, fair alerting, poor graphing
What do you like best about the product?
Auto-discovery of hosts is nice. The solution is free to use and easy to setup. The interface has greatly improved in version 3.0.
What do you dislike about the product?
Access control is confusing, things you don't have access to are hidden so you know don't what you cannot see, the graphing is difficult to use and not as flexible as other solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are monitoring our node health with the platform. It can handle tracking data for a ton of hosts and is simple to setup and leave running.

Good for someone starting out to get some quick monitoring.

What do you like best about the product?
Zabbix has rich of plugins which enables you to monitor what ever you want or write your own plugins for specific application monitoring. it's GUI can display most of the data collected for user analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
When the system monitored is large, such as more than 500, it's performance is bad, even though is has cluster solution, it can not satisfy production environment requirement. Compared with Time Series database such as influxdb, zabbix still use mysql for data store.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a free system monitoring solution , we integrate it with our private cloud solution. so we can deliver our solution to customer without develop a new monitoring system. it saves our engineer work.
Open Source - Works Fine for Intended Purpose
What do you like best about the product?
Useful for monitoring Web Servers and Databases. Indicates high usage, down services, ssl expirations, etc. If you're managing more than 5 VM's at a time it's worth it. You can also hook it up to a GSM module, which is nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as of now. A colleague setup the infrastructure. One should expect customization may be cumbersome as with most open source software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring servers.
Great entry level monitoring system
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, free, easy to set up and the notifications come in short order. Lots of options available, meets all entry level requirements and beyond
What do you dislike about the product?
GUI could be a bit more attractive, the ability to create custom notification templates is limited and simply just text based

Zabbix allows us to ensure that our systems are up and running and remain online.

Depending on your level knowledge this product can be difficult to use as there is only forum level support

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that we can use multiple plugins to monitor different apps
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the fact that it is not possible to run a check manually !!
