A powerful tool to manage errors

What do you like best about the product?
At a glance, you can easily see the traps sent to you by the configured servers or machines as set up by the network administrators.
What do you dislike about the product?
it perhaps has excessive tabs that should be able to be summarized in a simpler view to avoid confusing with its admin interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to monitor the status of servers across the entire company, easily detecting problems if there are any.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Zabbix in my experience is that it has very detailed reports, obtaining graphs in different formats of all the information about the network status and the hosts that are deemed appropriate. It supports a large number of platforms (Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Free BSD, Open BSD, OS X, Tru64/OSF1, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista). It resides in its web interface supported by an SQL database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQLite). It has a proactive system that allows problems to be solved automatically, a monitoring system, alerts, and graph visualization that other monitoring systems do not have. It is open source.
What do you dislike about the product?
The worst thing about Zabbix, in my opinion, is that it is very complex to use. The user manuals are very extensive, which discourages many users from using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You can monitor application servers in real time to know their status at the moment, and view incident or load histories.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would not recommend it to users without experience in this type of software, as it is quite complex and takes time to get used to it. On the other hand, I would recommend it to people with experience, as it is quite powerful.

What do you like best about the product?
Zabbix is very flexible and thus powerful. It can be customized in many different ways and supports a great deal of systems/sensors. We use it to monitor and alert on software/hardware/events/conditions/health status across hundreds of servers, hundreds of sites, thousands of workstations and thousands of network devices. The ability to configure the system in your specific way instead of being forced to do it how the vendor wants you to use the system is its main benefit.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be somewhat complex to configure and use, especially for those new to it or those who use it infrequently. It takes some skill to navigate to the right screen/page for actions/status items that you may need. It's data presentation can also be very overwhelming or not very easy to digest in a glance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We monitor a lot of mission critical software and hardware across 80 organization. Zabbix alerts us on any out of norm conditions or problems. This way we know about a problem often before our clients do.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need powerful and flexible monitoring and alerting solution - then try Zabbix, but keep in mind that it is not very intuitive and can be complicated to setup. It can do a lot for technology based organizations or those that have very significant IT infrastructure. Role based permissions and actions help limit tasks that employees can do within the software.

What do you like best about the product?
It is an excellent tool for monitoring almost all types of systems. Monitor all kinds of variables and you can obtain a lot of information about systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to set up and add devices, requiring extensive knowledge in systems and the tool, but once configured, it works perfectly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solution for network and system monitoring.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Product and system knowledge is needed for the implementation, otherwise it is an excellent tool.

The Best Free Network Monitor

What do you like best about the product?
A scalable, robust tool, easy to implement, which allows monitoring, correlation of events, this allows a forensic study on any event, in addition to being able to use proxies in different networks, the power to encrypt all the communication in a plus as soon as the previous versions, has a wide community of users that allows to rely on the construction of items to be monitored.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its interface is not very friendly, the administration of the items within the devices is not practical, it should have a simpler administration in terms of the items within the devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows visibility of the devices, was created as part of our platform to comply with GDRP showing logs and the demonstration of the availability times of each device.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For the implementation of Zabbix, you must have a defined plan, define the scope and stages in which the monitoring of the devices will be done and monitor them at each stage, because it is usually overwhelming when trying to address the set of items in the solution

What do you like best about the product?
this software is very well to create your monitoring tool safely and cheaply, with a physical server of not much capacity you can create a very useful and robust tool, very competitive with the market monitoring tools is quite versatile, with little knowledge in programming you can do it without problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
i cant said anything wrong about this software is very good, you can handle everything about monitoring, if i said you can implement a monitoring server whit a small server and a few command lines you believe me?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
i did solve so many problem whit this app , because it permit you see the behavior of the network and see anything problem in it, that is the most relevan feature of this software, the versatility that you can add in your netwrok whit this software is so good you can change your NOC for better.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
totally recommended if you need an application to monitor your network this is the least option in the market is very good and cheap to implement.

What do you like best about the product?
The amount of features and the customization is a great incentive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Zabbix agents does not work in all applications like network Nas and conflict with other agents for backup solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For the cost savings it a great. Able to customize the dashboard help review systems in glance. I would still be using zabbix now but it conflicts with backup agents I had later installed. I had to switch to spiceworks platform for my network monitoring.

What do you like best about the product?
All primary operating systems supported
Supports snmp, wmi, and agent based monitors
Supports monitor elements set by custom scripts
Supports notification of alarms by custom scripts
Supports proxy servers that relay traffic to the primary server (works really well for multiple site support)
Has a marketplace for templates for specific devices
Has an API
Has a discovery protocol that runs on a periodic basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
The python modules for their API needs additional documentation.
The UI is a little dated.
Their variable arguments for their notification scripts needs a few more options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring essential applications, servers, services, appliances, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Zabbix is a good option for server monitoring. If you run into problems contact the Zabbix IRC channel.
