Flexible, no-frills workspace

  • March 21, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, flexibility to adjust the screen layout, and ability to easily interact with the base R server. It provides an easy to use interface to access most of the features available in R.
What do you dislike about the product?
The syntax highlighting could use some improvement to bring it up to par with other editors such as Atom or Notepad++, for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The vast collection of statistical packages in R is easily available through RStudio. I have been using RStudio to analyze large financial datasets for many years. Some of the more tedious housekeeping tasks in R are nicely handle by RStudio.

What do you like best about the product?
R-Studio is an great open source IDE for R. I used it to run my R program codes. Works great on windows (i use).
Debugging is easy.
I can save my code as Projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fewer times the session terminated unreasonable, not too sure but might be due to huge data volume processing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Execution of my R code is easy.
Code management.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part about this software is that it can handle large amounts of data and form charts and graphs very easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since this software is open source it is really difficult to learn everything and sometimes becomes difficult to understand the codes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am currently using the R studio in my data mining class and have learned that it can used to predict about the historical data to improve the future analysis.

    Research

Must-have software for all R users.

What do you like best about the product?
- Makes R even better.
- It helps you know which objects / datasets you are working with at all times.
- The windows help you navigate through graphs and help files.
- It is free.
- It helps you keep your sanity while using R.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, it makes R very user-friendly. I am not sure how I feel about that.

In more serious terms, sometimes you might run into compatibility issues with certain R packages. During my five-year experience with RStudio, I run into a total number of "1" compatibility issue. I survived.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I teach research methods using R and also use R in my own research (did I mention R and RStudio are both free?). The main benefit of RStudio is basically making R into more of a software. Otherwise, R is a command-line program. Try explaining command-line to a 18 year-old PR student, I dare you!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start using RStudio now!

Phenomenal IDE for Data Analysis

  • February 23, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
R Studio covers just about all of my needs when it comes to data analysis. The team at R Studio clearly cares about the user experience and continues to develop products that make working with data and R easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. I dislike any situation where I have to use another tool to interact with data. R Studio is the best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
R Studio is the place that we do all of our data analysis, exploration, and modeling. This has brought much more depth of understanding to our data and our business metrics.

What do you like best about the product?
- RStudio can effectively run R packages and is simple to use while trying to perform statistical analysis for huge amount of data.
- It is open source and available for free.
- The workspace can be easily saved and organised as a Rhistory file which can be used for referencing later.
- The autocomplete feature is pretty quick and reliable.
- The panels are neatly divided and can be resized according to need.
What do you dislike about the product?
- The main problem with RStudio is that it is lacking behind in Data Visualization as compared to its competitors. Many Data Visualization software like Tableau, Qlikview available in the market can give you stunning visuals which help understand data much easier but Rstudio has not come upto par with the variety of charts that are available in these tools.
- There are instances of Rstudio crash which are quite frequent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Rstudio helps tackle data science problems from almost every industry like healthcare, finance, retail, etc
- Instead of using R command line, you can use Rstudio which can help you plot multiple graphs which are saved in different windows and you can view them together.
- You can build R scripts which are easier to share and run on Rstudio.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are working on R, Rstudio is the the way to go.

I did the data set analysis using R studio to use different algorithms/
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good tool to learn R programming.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in general .It can be a little buggy at times
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used this when i was student. Helped with my academic projects
Recommendations to others considering the product:
