Great upgrade to standard R suite
What do you like best about the product?
Everything is contained within a single window.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are issues when trying to save a graphic as a PDF. Maybe due to R packages being used, but such functions work with other programs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Statistical analyses of large datasets. Quick and easy to use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great beginning software. Pursue workshops.
Very solid wrapper for the industry statistics standard
What do you like best about the product?
The RStudio packs a number of important features that a standard R does not have. These include the ability to use pull-down menus to install packages, plot charts, import data, and execute blocks of the code. RStudio also offers a very nice editor for coding.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite all advantages, RStudio still stands far from commercial packages like STATA or EVIEWS in terms of its user-friendliness. Having built-in STATA-like abilities to perform regular statistics tasks, like OLS, GMM, time series tools, etc. using pull-down-menus, and duplicated by a code would be immensely helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Economics and Financial analysis of large data. R is very helpful because it is free, massively parallelizable, and has many useful tools other packages do not have.
R Studio for statistics
What do you like best about the product?
R is an easy coding language, but it is also flexible and can be used for both simple and complicated coding.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data cleaning, such as renaming, recoding, and computing new variables in R can be time consuming and results in bulky code.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use R Studio for most of my statistical computing.
Great simple product to recover deleted files.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and the interface is simple to understand. It's a great product to recover files but not too complex for a harsh learning curve.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing really bad to say about this product other than the scan time it takes for larger drives.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When we have accidentally deleted files, we were able to recover them saving us time.
Great for pretty plots, unclear when you have errors
What do you like best about the product?
I usually use SAS for statistical analysis, but R by far as the most aesthetically pleasing in terms of plots and graphs. The forums online to help are also great
What do you dislike about the product?
If you have an error in the log, the errors are often difficult to decipher. I spend more time figuring out errors than I do actually coding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Presenting graphics in a clear way
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Read online resources for help
This is a powerful math language, put into a more user friendly UI.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the small, yet effective changes they put in which are different from the base R UI.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike some of the features of R in general.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have not run into any problems with it, and have benefitted from the better UI.
R studio great addition to R base package
What do you like best about the product?
The R studio program adds a user-friendly component to the standard R program. The functionality has improved with each update and these features improve the ability to view and process your data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The output formats for R markdown files can be difficult to format in a predictable way, particularly for PDF files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Statistical analysis for clinical research.
RStudio makes statistics easy for everyone, and it's free!
What do you like best about the product?
RStudio is remarkably accessible for everyone to use. The interface is clear and easy to use even for beginner researchers who have little statistical experience. There are also many websites online teaching how to use it. Plus, the software is free, which is so great for anyone who wants to do statistical analyses, whether students or professionals. What more can you ask for>
What do you dislike about the product?
I have run into glitches in the past where despite correct coding, a set of code cannot find my data file on my computer, requiring me to have to create a new RStudio data file and copy and past all my code into a new set of code. Not hard because you just have to copy and paste everything, just annoying/frustrating when it occurs, especially if you're in the middle of running analyses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to use statistical software that allows me to do quick data analysis whenever I want. The coding platform is easy to add new lines of code to in order to accommodate whatever new analysis I want.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Takes a while to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, it's the best beginners' statistical analysis software out there. And it's free!!
Easy to use, free
What do you like best about the product?
What I like the best about RStudio is that it's free, accessible and easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to competitor data analytic tools, it is less comprehensive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data analysis, cleaning, basic statistics
