Free Statistical Analysis Software

  • May 23, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
RStudio is a free, open-source software that is as capable as industry-standard softwares, that cost thousands of dollars.
What do you dislike about the product?
Updating RStudio can cause some packages to stop working if they are not compatible with the new version. You are also required to install all packages after a system update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
RStudio has allowed my team to conduct thorough analyses without the cost of industry-standard softwares. Programs can be shared easily between users, allowing multiple team members to utilize pre-written code, saving time and money.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are multiple resources online to help troubleshoot code when errors arise.

The open source program

  • May 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can instantly input a function and the perfect result comes ut.
What do you dislike about the product?
How it is difficult to learn at first because it has a variety of functions you have to memorize and certain prerequisite inputs you need for the other inputs to work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to formulate statistical charts and graphs to help produce a better result. This thorough result is then given to my superior.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to watch a lot of youtube tutorials.

Much-improved IDE with room to improve further

  • April 30, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the RStudio IDE because it provides a helpful interface for data wrangling, data visualization, and data analysis purposes. Especially helpful are the alert features for typos and missed commas or parentheses as well as a number of hover-and-click options for many data management work.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, my most disliked feature of the IDE is the very slow data viewer. While it's not great practice to rely on viewing the data frame in its entirety, it still helps at times to do so and the viewer can use a speed boost since there tends to be a lag in loading data frame items even for relatively small data frames.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization
Recommendations to others considering the product:
RStudio is definitely a must and is likely the industry standard for working with R.

Incredible tool for coding in R

  • April 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is perfect to code in R. It provides one with a great GUI, for coding, and lets you run through reams of data quickly. Further, using the Knitr package one can make pdf copies of the output, and also make html copies of the code.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that unlike lets say visual studio, the interface does not give real time feedback with issues with the code.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using the tool to do RFM analysis for pushing out digital marketing communication to potential clients. The RFM analysis helps in providing one with a response rate which might be better than the response rate one could earn by pushing out digital communication to everyone.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I love the product for its ease of use and real time feedback and response to codes. If you really want to use an R product to code, you should consider R Studio for its interface.

Editor for unexperienced R users

  • April 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very user friendly and comparable to simpler coding languages, free software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have struggled in the past with using different packages, there is some difficulty in uploading them
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
RStudio provides an easy to use environment for coding, the ability to edit coding allows for much better and more complex analysis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will need a basic understanding of linear models and other statistical techniques, I would suggest Linear Models with R by Faraway.

Great interface for R users

  • April 18, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Years ago I used an interface called R Commander. That kept crashing and had to just use the Gui. Now R has a proper interface outside of just the Gui that integrates everything in one place so you can see exactly what you are working on. Biggest plus... It doesn't crash!
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything I don't like about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I regularly analyze big data to provide insights to our executive leadership so they know what directions they should take. Having R Studio allows me to store my code and adapt it as needed when particular analyses need to be run again. Plus I can chunk segments of code and run only those parts that I need. In addition, R Studio has a bunch of innovative packages that lets me create dashboards and documents with R script built into it. when it comes time to publish the work, there is not cut and paste. It is all within housed within a single file.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The desktop product is free. There is loads of support in the community. Plus, R Studio also offers server and enterprise solutions to those that need it (pending pricing).

RStudio is like my best friend

  • April 02, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
RStudio is amazing. I use it every single dang day at work and at home and for everything related to R. I even use it when I'm coding in Python sometimes because the functionality is so spot on.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little that I dislike about RStudio. It's a great tool and it is amazing that it is free. There are few other options when it comes to coding in R. I really love how running commands automatically makes the cursor skip to the next line.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I mostly use RStudio for data manipulation, data analysis, and other types of data processing. That includes social network analysis and machine learning algorithm model building and more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can use it with more languages than just R!!

Great IDE

  • April 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility that R studio provides. The many format options for the final output code and its compatibility with both, mac and windows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike about R studio. One of its disadvantages, which is in a sense an advantage, is its flexibility. It allows the user to run small chunks of code at a time making it challenging sometimes to keep track of where the code is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Statistical analysis for different research questions. Also, and advantage is Rnotebook which makes sharing code easy

Great for developing R projects

  • March 28, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Perfect if you are into R development. GUI is great and user-friendly. The software is very easy to understand. The software gives you suggestions when writing the code which makes it easy and also helps you to track errors. You also can view graphs in this application.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software is sometimes slow and tends to freeze when handling large data. You need to remove the past history of data and graphs in order to make space for new ones.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
R development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have enough memory available for this application

IDE perfecto para el lenguaje R

  • March 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using this IDE to program in R for quite some time, about 3 years. The application is robust and works quickly, especially when executing commands through the console.

Visually is not the best I've seen but this can be solved by changing the theme in the IDE configuration, where we will find more than 20 styles available to choose from themes such as the sky theme or darker for programmers who prefer these types of colors for program.

One of the best features of this IDE in my opinion is its debugger since it allows a quick and easy way to locate the point where our program is failing, also showing valuable information about the error so that we can correct it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like it to have different settings for the shortcut, because if you come to program in other programming languages or different IDE, you will find something lost because the keyboard shortcuts will not be the same, a different plugin or profile that would allow using the shortcut of Eclipse would be perfect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With this IDE the programming speed is increased thanks to its auto completion since the suggestions it makes are very accurate, besides the templates that come with the files that are created are very useful for not writing the same code every time you create a new file.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This application is currently the best one to program in R since the debugger that implements executes the R language natively. In addition, the IDE allows you to modify its interface and change the sources for the one that best suits your programming preferences.
