Great tool for engineers
What do you like best about the product?
User friendly interface and very comprehensive tool to do finite element analysis and mesh analysis
What do you dislike about the product?
Extensive Siemens support and more tutorials can be more helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly FEA and linear Static analysis

User Since 2003 I saw evolution from Advanced Simulation to Simcenter 3D
What do you like best about the product?
Simcenter 3D is aligned with model-based system engineering since the beginning from the master model approach(the most Powerful CAD ever) until today's multi-physics(Mechanical, Thermal, Electromagnetics, Multibody Dynamics, Control, and lumped parameters simulation features with AMESIM link)
What do you dislike about the product?
Softwares like Recurdyn have more powerful MBD capabilities in flexible contact, primitive contact options, control modeling, and meshless CFD. I agree that control modeling could be improved with an interface directly on simcenter 3D. Using AMESIM or Matlab to model control is expensive because of the extra AMESIM or MATLAB seats.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me is excellent to manage the complexity of large structures and the Simcenter 3D is excellent to cut repetitive modeling tasks like mesh generation in a couple of hours.

Properly defined materials, Integration with Creo, Can be easily embedded in our design tools - So the modelling of the geometry is faster, Good Post processing options,
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult to rectify the model for overlapping / Intersecting Geometry incase if it is imported from CAD, Takes a little longer to calculate, Not many examples of transformer
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are into transformers, So this tools helps to analyze the thermal and magnetic behaviour of transformers. It helps to identify Hotspot location and further helps to optimize the transformer from cost point of View

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to import from CAD/Creo, Well defined material properties, Easy to fix modeling part

Solver hangs sometimes, Unable to identify overlapping geometry
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves Magnetic and Thermal related problems in products. Of course, a new product and a new design must be simulated first to predict the results to be obtained.
Innovative CAE tool for automation.
What do you like best about the product?
The simulation portrayed on various platforms helps to understand one's model and designs. I never though acoustics played a huge part when designing a machine or structure.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside could be the software's size and basic requirements for hardware to run the software. Not to mention the add-ons that need to be purchased along with the prime software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Aerostructure simulation is something that is taken lightly, but with the simulation part offered by the software gives us a clear understanding on how or what the structure sgould be with respect to the respective ambience.
Simcenter 3D review
What do you like best about the product?
Simcenter 3D can be used as pre-post for most softwares such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, NASTRAN etc. You also get all the benefits of NX as the CAD tool. Simcenter 3D also lets you post-process with some unique features
What do you dislike about the product?
Simcenter 3D workflow has been made a bit too complex and requires some amount of time and practice to get a hang of it. Non conformal contact creation is a pain and solving thermal-strutural analyses is also unnecessarily difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simcenter 3D can be coupled with other Simcenter products such as STAR CCM+ , Amesim etc to perform multi-physics problems. The coupling of CFD in STAR CCM+ with non-linear FEA in Simcenter 3D has helped me greatly.

Predictive fatigue life simulation for additive manufacturing parts is an amazing capability of simcenter.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software is very much optimized but more training can be provided online for best usage.

Being in medical field simulation of additive manufacturing parts is very important. Simcenter has helped a lot in doing complex simulation for medical field.
